Yao should call out the refs...he gets hammered more than James does http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2003116 James 15th in league in trips to the line ESPN.com news services LeBron James wants to contribute even more to the Cleveland Cavaliers, but he needs help -- from the officials. In addition to the frustrations of a three-game losing streak, James is concerned about how the games are being called. "I feel like I've been more aggressive in the last three games than I have been in my whole career and I'm still not getting the respect that I think I deserve," James told the Akron Beacon Journal. "It has been going on for so long, it's frustrating." Despite ranking seventh in the league in scoring at 25.3 points per game, James ranks only 15th in free throws attempted at 7.3 per game. Players such as Dwyane Wade and Corey Maggette have been going to the line more often. One explanation for the discrepancy: James' strength and effortless play. "When he creates the contact, they're going to give him the foul," coach Paul Silas told the paper. "When he tries to avoid contact he might get clipped, but they're not going to give him that. He's learning." Regardless of the officiating, James doesn't plan to change his aggressive game. "I'm not settling for jump shots, even if I'm still not going to the line," James told the Beacon Journal. "I'm going to keep on doing it."
He should but I dont think it would make the headlines like it is here with Lebron and thats unfortunate because it should.
Yao should call out the refs, but since he doesnt have the major sport networks licking his you-know-whats, i doubt it would even make headlines. but when King James does it, its all over espn. i swear every little thing James does is a hightlight on ESPN. but when Yao does a freakin awesome move it is barely, if ever mentioned.
