Apparently he thinks he's reading Yao's mind.

I miss playing with my diminutive friends, Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley. I am very lonely. I wish I could play for the Lakers.

    HINT: NOT JUWAN

So Bill Simmons thinks Lakers gonna be the 3rd seed in the west? I did't know a crackhead can write for ESPN.

I like this guy's writing though. Read what he says about the Blazers.

Simmons is a good writer, but the Rockets ain't a #9 seed. They are a legitimate playoff team. It might not be evident yet, but the season just started. And no way are the Lakers 3rd seed. They are way, way worse than the Rockets right now. Don't let one flukey game from Mihm fool you. Last night they got manhandled by a real team.

Simmons writing is awesome but his predictions are full of crap. I guarantee you that he probably changed these after the first couple of games. Go and see what he says about Orlando in the NBA Dish forum. I posted his predictions for the East. This guy was one of the guys who said Yao would be a stiff, then when Yao looked good he constantly berated Steve and Cuttino for not passing to him. Then after the trade he was proclaiming how awesome the team would be. Now after 2 losses in which by McGrady standards he was average the guy says the Rockets won’t make the playoffs and Yao misses Steve and Cat.

The guy is a great writer and a really great historian. His column on the ten year anniversary of the O.J. trial is really exceptional. But he is about as flaky as a box Special K cereal.

get over it. The rockets traded down. If it aint evident by now, it will be in 20 or so games.

    After 5 losses :
Tmac - "I ain't getting no help here, management needs to fill in the holes. I can't do it all myself"

    After 10 losses :
Tmac - "My teamates need to step up. I'm scoring 20+, averaging 5+ assists and we still are losing. What else you want me to do"

After 15 losses " I'm retiring after next season..whaa whaa"

Keep in mind the Lakers are a RUDY T Team now.

This is the guy who took a Center from Alabama who was #2 behind Shaq in blocks in the SEC and made him a Small Forward who jacks up 3 pointers.

Rudy seems to the master of making role players play big.

Right, and I am not in any way demeaning Rudy T, but his team is not better than Houston.

If you like them so much, why not visit a Laker fan site. :)

Because no one will understand on the Laker site that

Vernon Maxwell is the greatest person in Rockets history.

He actually makes contact with people in the stands and reaches out to people who are down on their luck in prison.

He likes to eat at Lubys.

The WHOLE REASON THIS PLACE IS CALLED "CLUTCH CITY" is because he responded to Eddie Sefko's "CHOKE CITY" article.

We can actually beat the Spurs with this guy.

He played D on Michael Jordan.

If he didn't play Basketball, Im pretty sure he would be president of the UNITED WAY.

Laker fans would not understand this.

    acronym

<jargon> An identifier formed from some of the letters (often
the initials) of a phrase and used as an abbreviation.

    HINT:Andre Kirelenko calls himself "AK47"
HINT: Juwan's overated pal Chris Webb calls himself "CWEBB"

Because this is how narrow-minded this guy really is.
