Friend watched the game on ESPN. I watched on FSN. She (new to BB) was remarking on the commentators - former NBA players? Anyone know who announced that game? Thanks!

Mike Breen was not an NBA player.

Hubie Brown used to coach the NBA and was an assistant before that, but never a player in the NBA. That's odd. It's like Jeff Van Gundy... except with more hair... and a lot taller.

    WRONG FORUM? G.A.R.M.

Thanks. I felt my question too stupid to even post at all. Confession: We were discussing how many handsome black men are in the NBA - past and present - coaches and commentators. Was wondering what I had missed by not watching the game on ESPN. I always watch FSN because I love Bill, Matt and especially Clyde. I read about folks not liking Clyde as a commentator. All my girlfriends love Clyde and have for years. We think he is funny and handsome and love his voice. Signed, middle-aged white gal
(also noting the Rockets have the most handsome men than any other team).
Debating whether to hit "submit reply" - guess I will.

Be honest - Would you prefer an average looking white guy like David Anderson to a handsome black man like Jim Jackson? What about handsome white guy (JJ Reddick) vs handsome black guy (Rick Fox)? Do you merely view handsome black men as a forbidden fruit you'd like to taste once or twice, or does their swagger promote fantasies of a lifetime together?

Yeah, my fiance is swooning over Kevin Martin. She thinks he looks like this guy:

She also likes Scola and Andersen's accents, and likes Chase Budinger, too.

Just admiring - nothing more. It kind of starting dawning on me some time ago that there are far more handsome black men than white men in the NBA.
I think our David A has very pretty eyes. There is one other white guy - cannot recall name - not JJR. Someone mentioned weeks ago on the GARM that Jordan Hill looks pretty good sitting on the bench. That he does - but even better on the court.

How does your husband/boyfriend feel about you admiring all these large black men? Do you think it makes him feel incompetent at times?

The NBA is predominantly made up of black guys, so it only makes sense you'll find more attractive ones. All races have their share of beautiful men, even the Orientals in their own special way.

Re: Kevin Martin reminds me of the actress Jennifer Beals.

Now this will get a laugh. Ron Artest. If I did not see him in a BB uiniform
I would peg him for an opera singer. His facial structure/expressions - body type and how he carries himself/presence.

Still trying to remember the name of the one white guy that got my attention.
I don't mean that all the white players are double-baggers. Barry and Bullard are pleasant looking.

Is there anyone in the NBA as funny as Charles Barclay?

FWIW I think it will be a long summer with no Rockets games to watch.

This here post is potentially SIGNATURE-WORTHY and FULL O'FAIL:

WTF with these comments, man? Are you doing your own research for your "NBA Racial Makeup" results?!?!? Why asking such personal and then silly questions?

Mike Breen is a great PBP man. He's not a shameless homer either when he calls Knicks games like some others (including Worrell).

Oh, I know who you're thinking about.

We like to call him Memo around here.

It's probably their foreign aura that draws you to them. I can't say I blame you.

Some of the replies in this thread are why we can't have nice things (i.e more than a 1 to 100000 female to male ratio.)

If a couple of our number are a little "intimidated" by the idea of a woman finding an zillionaire world class athlete of whatever racial origin attractive let's not whine openly about it here and run another one off. Sheesh.

Maybe if you talked to women in real life, you wouldn't need to take the internet so seriously? A sports message board is not the place to creep on women. Lay off the prescription meds and relax a little... it's the weekend.
