Tracy is getting some love on 1st and 10. They were discussing the top three MVP in the NBA and here was their top three.

    Gene Wojciechowski
    1. Steve Nash
    2. Dirk Nowitski
    3. Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal, Tracy McGrady (I believe he said it was a three-way tie)

    Skip Bayless
    1. Steve Nash
    2. Tracy McGrady
    3. Dirk Nowitski

Bayless, by his own admission, knows absolutely nothing about the NBA. He just says outrageous things to get a charge out of people. In this case, that Dirk would get his 3rd-place vote for an award he is clearly going to win.

Bayless has been on T-Mac's nuts all season long. Remember back when Yao was injured and he kept insisting on that show that we were better off without Yao?

I agree with a list, but to revive a question:
So MVP actually means MVPFT (as for team)?

Yeah, thats the first thing I thought when I saw that. According to Bill Walton, Shaq should be All NBA 2nd team, with Yao 3rd team.... how do these people have jobs?

I kept waiting for Bayless to say that the Heat were a better team without DWade when the Heat went on their run after DWade got hurt.

SHAQ is still very productive and has a huge impact on that team, I have seen him play brilliantly in a couple games this season. As for ahead of Yao on the All-Nba squad, I don't agree with that.

too bad si doesnt feel the same way...neither of their supposed experts picked mcgrady as top 5. They didnt even pick yao as an all nba team for any of the 3 teams.

    Top 5:
    Nash
    Dirk
    Yao
    Kobe
    Duncan

These guys, in that order, are the most valueable, talented, and overall dominating players in their craft today.

While it's nice to see Tmac getting some praise, if Yao hadn't gotten injured he would be taking Tmac's place in this discussion.

(funniest thing is, that list basically comprises an entire starting five.. from PG to C)

McGrady isn't going to be MVP, but it could turn out that Tmac and Yao end up on the All-NBA first team together. But since Tmac is considered a gaurd this year, its probably going to be Kobe and Nash. But since Kobe's team has fallen off in the standings in the past month while Tmac has gotten player of the week awards and clinched home court in the final week of the playoffs, Tmac could very well take that spot over Kobe. If Yao doesn't get 1st team it would be a damn shame. Battier is probably going to end up on one of the defensive teams considering how Artest, Kobe, and Bowen have all fallen off defensively this year. And JVG is in the running for coach of the year. The awards are looking interesting this year.

Man I gotta come clean. I have done a lot of criticizing of TMac over the past two seasons. There were even times that I have honestly wished that we could trade him. I was worried about his back. His jumpshot was not what it once was. He was jacking up shots even when he was having an off night instead of just trying to take it to the hole and atleast drawing the foul.

With that said... He has definitely shut me the hell up!!! Without a doubt. The way he has come on over the last few games it is easy to see why he would be mentioned in the MVP talk. I am amazed. Last night was the most exciting Rox game I have seen in quite a while.

    Just a few more days!!!

Good thing people look beyond PPG and realize that TMac is, at worst, just as good as Kobe, and, at best, much better.

I don't see how anyone can justify putting Shaq in front of Yao, point blank. Shaq has played LESS games then Yao, so you can't really use Yao's injury as an excuse (40 for Shaq vs 48 for Yao).

If we're going to compare them one-on-one...Shaq is averaging almost 8 PPG, 2 RPG and 0.6 BPG LESS then Yao. The Rockets are a 50 win team in the Western Conference. The Heat aren't even scratching that level in the East. Anyone who chooses Shaq over Yao on All-NBA teams should be shot.

The only centers that should even be considered before Yao are Dwight, Duncan (if they qualify him as a C, which I see some sites doing) and Amare, and that's only because all of them played near-full seasons.

Tracy > Dirk, I love it! Everyone knew it in 2005; it's about time they knew it again... But they'll know it for sure after the second round. Believe it!
