Mike (Houston): Hello Doc. How far do the Rockets need to advance in the playoffs for them to consider this a successful season so they won't try and trade away Francis and perhaps Mobley in the off season? I think this team is just starting to click.

Dr. Jack Ramsay: (4:07 PM ET ) The Rockets will have a tough matchup in the first round. ..right now they'd play the T'Wolves...two weeks ago, I'd have said that's a bad one...but the way that Minny has played of late...Houston might have a good shot at knocking them off. If they get to the second round...that's as much as they could hope for. But if they get there...who knows?

Tom (Hong Kong): Hi DR. Jack. You are my favorite NBA analyst. Many people believe that two of the Big Five will be eliminated in the 1st round. Do you agree? (Big Five: Kings, Twolves, Spurs, Lakers and Mavs)

Dr. Jack Ramsay: (4:23 PM ET ) Of those teams that you mention...I'd pick the Mavs to get an early exit. They'll probably match up with the Lakes...and if the TWolves don't get it together, they could get bumped also...especially if they match up with Houston. But, as they say anything can happen in the NBA and usually does.

dew irvine: How good will Yao be? Will he and the rockets be considered a major power by next year?

Dr. Jack Ramsay: (4:40 PM ET ) Yao is the second best power player in the league...Shaq is first. He'll be the top power player in another season or two...and as he improves and the Rockets fill in around him better...and JVG keeps coaching them...the Rockets will climb up the ladder. Next year? Probably not at the top...but getting closer.

The reason that they would be traded has nothing to do with the quality of their play. I might rephrase it this way they could be traded if their play is not compatible with that of the Teams Center Yao Ming. One thing for sure the Team needs a starting Playmaker Point Guard and a taller Small Forward.[JJ is realy a Shooting Guard]

As bad as our back court has looked at times, when they are on, they are good. And they are on right now. Of course Mobley has had some bad shooting nights, but earlier in the season he was on fire. Now Steve seems to be picking it up. Just in interviews in the last 2 weeks or so Steve seems like he has been 'broken'. Seems like he is saying the right things and those things have translated into action on the floor.

Now, would I rather have Eric Snow as our PG, hell yes, he can command an offense and play defense. But what he have in our back court has not been terrible.
