    for the 3rd time

the comment is a reply to what charles barkley said

"yao ming makes shawn bradely look like bill russell"

I have more sense than to compare Yao with BIll at this stage of his career

Too conservative. His production will be a function of the amount of minutes he plays and he looks in great shape so I think he'll ramp up to 35mpg pretty quickly.

I am curious in seeing what if any adjustments JVG makes with the post injury Rockets game plan vs. the pre-injury team. Will there be less emphasis on running the offense through Yao and more though McGrady? Will Yao get the same amount of touch's or will there be more balanced scoring?

Skip Bayless: Why would he need 3 weeks to learn how to shoot jumpers from 20 feet out again?

Yao's problem will be minutes- it will take him 2 weeks to get his stamina back. I see him dropping 20 points in more or less the 3rd game- as far as offense goes he really does not have to do very much!

the thing is, Yao could only play 15 minutes and still drop 20 points if the team just goes to him like mad when he is in.... he could get 20 points and only like 6 rebounds.

i see games like that to be more the norm for yao. especially if he is not starting and is subbing for mutombo, playing against the scrubs.

"Games like that to be the norm"? There are going to be a maximum of probably two games where Yao doesn't start... You make it sound like he's going to be coming off the bench for the rest of the season.

Yao is more rested than any of his past off seasons. He will be fresh and dominate the rest of the year and playoffs.

I think it's okay to be a little conservative with playing Yao at this point. We should ease him back into the rigors of the NBA game, make sure he's well enough to play regularly. I think 15-20 mins a night for his first few games back is about right... working him back up to 30+.

Does anyone know how long Yao will have to wear the knee brace for?

And I say that by the end of 2 weeks Yao should be dominating again.

I think the most important thing is not MVP level, but the chemistry and be ready for the playoff.

The whole season, but they found a new brace he was more comfortable with, so it shouldnt be as big a problem as was feared.

I predict in tonight's game against the Cavs, Yao will have his man sealed off and in good low post position, only to have Reefer swings the ball to the other side and that caused Yao to repost again.

I have to fire an email to the board once again asking the same question: why didn't Reefer just pass the ball to Yao?

And the board will have the same answers for me such as: that is Gundy's offense, Yao was not opened, Yao didn't seal off his man, Yao didn't have good position and a partridge in a peartree.......

I don't think I'll be watching tonight's game because I don't want to go through this again!
