Anyone seen this? A buddy of mine recommended it and I gave it a go. It's sort if Stephen King wrote a horror Lost set in a small rural American town that nobody can leave and shapeshifting monsters come out at night. Writing is very good outside of some bad parenting decisions and there are some really poignant scenes. First two seasons are on MGM+ and it's renewed for a third. It's worth either a 7-day free trial or you can get the first two months for $1 each on Amazon. The platform has a decent selection of movies but I don't think I'll keep it. Make sure you set a reminder on your calendar to cancel. RT scores if you care: 96%/89%
I binged watched this a couple weeks ago and the first few episodes were well written and intriguing then it slowly tapers down into mediocrity. I cancelled the free trial and requested my $1 back.
I'm on S1E8 and I still like it. I hope it doesn't dwindle down into garbage for me. The fact that it's going on 3 seasons means there's enough viewership to sustain investment. Of course, Grey's Anatomy has like 20 seasons so....
I watched season 1 and really liked it, I went to watch season 2 and I had to do a trial membership with MGM to see it so I passed. To many times they make it almost impossible to cancel these things so I passed..............I had a horrid experience with Amazon trying to cancel and I am gun shy
Yea, I go to cancel they ask am I sure? Next screen says you can keep it and we'll remind you 3 days before renewal, third page are you again sure you want to cancel? Sigh...
The beginning really drew me in. Was eager to see season two. But ended up being a bit of a let down, so much filler. I find myself fast forwarding every time the girlfriends talk, or basically anyone from colony house. Still will watch when season 3 eventually rolls around. But I fear they'll get to the point they introduce too many things and by that point it's gotten out of control and can't explain any of it satisfactorily.
On S2E1: Spoiler They totally telegraphed the lesbian couple getting reunited. The supernatural/magic aspect of the show gives the writers complete deus ex machina superpowers.
