That's just wrong. Noone can do it better than Bruce did it. Yes, it may look more polished and all that. But, why they gotta go tramping on Bruce's legacy? Make your own damn original film!
Bruce Lee was amazing, but he's overrated. I have no clue who Rain is, but I'll gladly watch the remake. The bad guy should win more often, so I'm happy it'll be noir.
Aren't you contradicting yourself. How can someone be both "amazing" and "overrated"? Anyway why do you think he is overrated?
Hollywood has been out of ideas for a long time - The scumbag Moneymen have done a fantastic job of chasing many of the genuinely creative people away by insisting that everything must be a blockbuster. The most creative, interesting, and groundbreaking movies are no longer being done by big-name Hollywood producers, but by independent groups. There are a few exceptions here and there, but I don't think anyone would deny that cinema-as-art has really moved away from the cinema-as-revenue camps. Big Businessmen eventually suck the vitality out of everything they touch.
Wow you can't be serious right? The guy died at 32 and has accomplish so much that people today still talk about his legacy? Do you ever considered thinking or doing research before you state an argument or the wrong opinion?
I see that I've greatly upset you. It was not my intent. Olajuwon was amazing and underrated. Yes/No? So you're saying a person can't be awesome and overrated? He was good, but his legacy was helped by his early demise. I'm a fan of Bruce Lee, I even have his postmortem book. (2nd copy, since a friend stole the first one.)
Someone can by hyped so much that no matter how good they are they can't live up to their own hype. For example, if lebron doesn't win a championship, despite putting up the single greatest statistical post season, he is over hyped.
One thing I don't like about Bruce's legacy is how they fictionalized that film remake. I think it was "Bruce Lee - The Dragon". The guy who played him I thought was brilliant. However, they changed around so many facts that it is one big act of fiction following a loosely true timeline and series of events. The sad part is Bruce's wife, Linda, was a participant. I guess it wouldn't have been nearly as interesting if they didn't fib about a lot of the events. But, I still would have liked a film that stuck to the facts. I actually found myself reading about all the fiction in that film...compared to what really happened. I know it was intentional but, to me anyway, it reduced...rather than enhanced...Bruce's legacy. I would still like to see a docudrama style film that is true to Bruce's real life...and not overblown to the point that it makes Bruce look more like a God than a man. The truth is he was just a man that was in tune with his body like no other and invented his own style that he was able to prove was better than any of the other styles out there if done properly.
The are rebooting Nightmare on Elm Street. A crime IMO but not nearly as bad as the Enter the Dragon idea.
this is not going to end well at all. why tamper with a classic. I think I'm going to hollywood and suggest a remake of the Godfather.
