MIAMI — Astros third baseman Morgan Ensberg has been put on the disabled list.

Ensberg, who was hitting .187 since the end of April, skipped batting practice Thursday because of the ailing right shoulder he injured while diving for a ball June 9.

He believes something is not right with the shoulder and is trying not to move the joint.

"I definitely want my shoulder to get better," he said. "I want that to heal. That's really my main concern. I really want to get better. It's been the same as it's been since I got my second (pain-killing) shot three weeks ago."

Outfielder Luke Scott was called up from Class AAA Round Rock to take Ensberg's place.

Good, but if he was hurt he should have spoke up earlier.

I hope he can heal up and get going again before the playoffs, but with a shoulder injury that might be difficult.

Good move for all parties involved. Morgan needs to be healthy to help this team. You knew something was wrong because he isn't this bad of a hitter. Hopefull Scott gets some AB's to prove his worth.

I'm pulling for Mo to succeed, but to be honest, he was sucking pretty bad at the plate for quite awhile before he injured his shoulder in early June.

Damn Astros never had as many left-handed hitters as they do now. Scott, Lamb, Berkman, Munson, and Scott.

Yea my bad, replace 2nd scott with Huff. Good thing is all of them have a lot of power and always great to have left-handed power of the bench.

In two days, Dada's and Burzmar's season long desires have come to fruit. I'm actually kind of scared.

And that is a good thing. Too many people focus on the short porch in left field at Minute Maid Park. Fact of the matter is....MMP is a great park for left handed hitters, because the gaps are big and they can spray the ball all over the place.

I have been complaining about a lack of left handed hitting in the Astros everyday lineup for a long time, and finally they are doing something about it!
