I was listening to CP on 790 yesterday and some caller and CP were pissed about some comments Ensberg made - and no it wasnt the Mexican food comments. Something about him taking strike 3 all the time because he didnt care or something???? I guess it was something he said over the last couple of days.
I heard via 3rd party that he was on the air before he was traded (but had been released) and was basically making fun of himself...as in, "If anyone out there is looking for a 3rd baseman that is known to look at strike 3 a lot, I'm available" and stuff like that But as I said, I didn't hear it...just what my friend told me
Haha. His watching perfect strikes go down the middle and jumping out of the way like they were going to hit him frustrated me so much. He's such a pure guess hitter. However, it does sound like he's a real good guy and can even poke fun at himself. I hope he does well.
I hope he does well too. I've liked practically all the Astros and I really hope the "change of scenery" they all eventually get will be a wakeup call for their potential
Apparently CP and this caller didnt think it was funny, but whatever. Tried to look for the Podcast, but couldn't find jackkkkkkkkk.
That's not how it went down at all. CP said he thought Ensberg was a good dude, and one of his favorite traits was his self-effacing humor. They played the clip and Palilo got a kick out of it. Ensberg said something to the extent of, 'Hello from the unemployment line. If you're looking for a third-basemen who watches too many called third strikes, please give me a call.' Obviously, it was before he was dealt to San Diego.
I'd be kind of pissed if he just immediately started hitting again. As if the only adjustment that needed to be made was getting away from our organization.
