So, Rockets beat Heat in OT. BIG DEAL! First of all, it’s Miami Heat. Second of all, look at the way they shot. It’s a freaking shame not to blow them out. But what did we do? 12 assists in FOUR quarters + 1 overtime??? Even blind ppl can tell we played BAD BAD ISO basketball. Yao got 6 shots in 41 mins of play for 15 points while Francis and Mobley jacked up 37 shots for 48 points??? Even elementary school students know what is wrong with the Rockets by looking at those numbers. Don’t tell me those Yao was defended tightly craps. It’s one thing if they at least TRIED to throw the ball inside but the ball was thrown back due to the defense. But they never tried. If you are a guard and have already spent several years in NBA, but still don’t know how to throw the ball over the defender when your post player is fronted, you should go ahead kill yourself since your are an embarrassment to everyone around you. I know it’s getting tiresome. Ever since Yao showed everyone what he could do, 90% of the posts here have been about getting Yao more shots. But it’s a mystery to every fan why not only that hasn’t happened, but it’s getting worse recently. Tighter defense on Yao? Certainly a factor. But it’s also equally true if not more that certain players on this Rockets team just don’t seem to get it. When a person can’t recognize the obvious, either one of the two things must be true: 1, he is an idiot who can’t even tell the difference between a penny and 10 bucks. 2, he’s a selfish player who only cares about his own stats instead of team wins. If 1 is true, then that makes everyone else looks bad too, since the ppl who pay idiots millions of bucks to do anything are obviously idiots themselves and the ppl who are fans of idiots can’t be wise either. If 2 is true, try change them first. Everyone can be changed. But if they are just stubborn boneheads, then the team must trade away those cancers before it’s too late. Basketball is a team sports. Let those individuals go do something else – play golf, tennis, boxing, piano, streetfighter, whatever, but just not basketball. And if they can’t play anything else, just make sure they don’t play on the Rockets. Geeezzz!! We can’t count on fools to save us! After all, I realized that 1 and 2 are actually the same thing. People never call a selfish player smart. And smart players definitely don’t keep driving into the crowds and throw up crazy shots when other teammates are open. Therefore I am very concerned about the health of the few smart players and our fellow fans. Why? Because watching stupid ppl running the show too often will make you stupid too. You’ll tend to believe those stupid things they do are natural for everyone. I don’t want that happen to our fans and I certainly don’t want that happen to the only few left smart players on our team. Some ppl will say I went too far over the line cuz I used words like “idiot” to call our players. But, no, I didn’t. I am not overreacting or insulting anyone. I am just stating facts. Some of the Rockets players are just stupid (yes, especially those guards). That’s a straight simple fact. They might have nice stats or even make the all-star team, but they can’t take Rockets to the next level. With all being said, I am still optimistic about the team’s future. I know it takes time for great changes to take place and I still believe our guards can be taught to play smart basketball. But one thing is for sure now: We can’t keep playing this way. Rudy and the guards led by SF definitely need to do a better job or they may leave to save everyone from suffering.
Well , a win is a win. A road victory is good no matter how it looks. A victory on the road against a team which has owned you is good. Oh and BTWYOU ARE AN IDIOT
I must say that posts like these are sapping away the fun of this BBS. There are way too many these days.
You know, nolag, there are such things are PARAGRAPHS, you know? all you need to do is press the "ENTER" button a few times. Bottom line: you complain too much. It's one thing to offer constructive criticism, but it's another to just complain. Are you even Rox fan? Man, you sound so whiny!!!
I think most of you Rocket(Yao Ming) Fans should become Kings fans. Sure we don't have a asian guy in the team but heck we can sure pass the ball and play unselfishly^_^. Also how can anyone complain about a win? O_O A win is a win.
Hell i didn't even read it, I got to the second sentence and was like "whoa...I don't want any of that...im not going to let this win get soured".
It will be nice nolag2k2 to put some paragraphs in his post. But he got the point! I am getting more and more sick of the same old crap from Rockets guards. PASS MING THE DAMN BALL!!! PASS MING THE DAMN BALL!!! PASS MING THE DAMN BALL!!! Also, try pass to him when he is not surround by 3 guys too. It made me sick to see 3 of the 4 passes to Ming in the first half turned into TOs. Don't tell me the NBA's best backcourt cannot figure out how to pass to a 7-6 guy with a soft hand! Shaq never had a problem getting ball. Malone never had a problem getting the ball. Garnett never had a problem getting the ball. Why our guards cannot play a passing game????
Actually, you'll find some of nolag2k2's sentiments echoed in Clutch's recap of the game. (except Clutch's recap makes use of paragraphs)
RELAX nolag2k2bu!! At least they won the game! I fear how u would react if they lost ! Think positive! I know the ROXS have some issues 2 work out, but so has alot of teams in the NBA!!! I understand that u were a little....ok alot, ticked off on how the ROXS been playing lately and u r not alone! An ugly win is just as good as a pretty win! The ROXS just have 2 b up 4 every game period! They just can't take any team lightly!
Heh. If the Rox lost, and nolag posted this, everyone would call him a bandwagonner or something like it. This was a close call and if the Rockets think "a win is a win" they're going to be set up for disappointments ahead.
The reason some of us take it serious is its a drain on Clutch's and the other moderator's time. It clogs up the front page and bumps off legitimate, refreshing topics. Plus, it creates more work for the moderators.
Then why do people waste there time posting YOUR AN IDIOT post or you complain too much , its just some guys opinion who is sitting behind a computer talking about a GAME.
Sadly, I agree with nolag2k2. I'm seriously starting to think that Steve is deliberately NOT passing to Yao. Why do I think that? Because as bad as a point guard he is, I don't think he's stupid/blind enough not see a wide open 7'6" fella wide open 5 feet from the hoop. If everyone here wants to feel good because we barely beat a bad team, hey, go right ahead, but it's painfully obvious that if Steve continues to play the way he is, then we will never make it to the playoffs.
Its pointless to argue with you A-train. Steve could go 0-20, with 15 TO's and no assists and you would still be in love with him. Never the less...second to last shot, steve draws the double team, Yao flashes to the basket, WIDE OPEN 5 feet from the basket. Steve shoots and clangs a 18 footer, Yao goes for the put back but gets the interference call. That one really stood out because there was nobody, absolutely nobody between Yao and the bucket but steve is so fixed on taking the shot he doesn't see anything else on the court. If you don't see Steve missing multiple opportunities like those on a consistent basis then tell me what you do see.
I think he should do this for a coupla games and shut everybody up when we lose every one of them... course ppl will still make excuses and talk about how the O flowed better w/o Francis and how Yao was tired, or RT sux and can't use Yao right, or even better, "it was a loss but the O looked so much better (cause yao gets over 20 points with more than 12 touches) so we should trade Francis and Mobley". In fact let's just let Francis and Mobley sit out a few games hmm? Perhaps that'll put a lil' perspective on things. Let's see what these two "dimwitted" guards bring to the Rox. Everybody is integral to this team, yes including Yao, Francis AND Mobley (believe it or not).
Whenever you score 105 points against a Pat Riley-coached team, on their home court, with good defensive players like Brian Grant and Eddie Jones, it's a positive. This was a good win.
True, but blowing a 12 point 4th quarter lead and missing 2 free throws in regulation in the clutch to put the game away leads some to be a little concerned.
