Is this the end of our hated rivals the Mavs?

After losing to the Clippers, they are hoisting a 2:6 losing record.

Losses to Pacers x 2, Bulls, Pistons, Houston, Clippers.

Will they make it back to the top?

I thought the Chinese were supposed to be good at math. No team in the NBA has played 8 games

They missed their chance by blowing a 13-point lead in game 3 of the Finals in 2006 against the Heat. I knew they wouldn't win it all the next year despite the great record. Where Cuban messed it up was not changing up the roster last summer. The chemistry of the team and coach was permanently lost after the Warriors series.

It is the end of the Mavs as a title contender. They have a good coach, some good players on the roster, but Jason Kidd is sliding downhill followed by Stackhouse and Jet Terry. They are also very weak at C. I like Brandon Bass while Gerald Green is a wild card (that I wouldn't bet on). Unless they pull off some kind of lopsided trade or two, the Mavs won't do much this year or next.

They have a good chance to make the playoffs. Under Rick Carlisle, they will figure out a way to maximize the players they have.

I was just going to mentioned that...the Mavs are still a dangerous team. I think they could even surprise one of the tops seeds in the playoffs. If they meet LA, NO, Houston, Phoenix, or Utah. That's not a series, you can sweep, so easily. The Mavs will give someone a tough 6 or 7 game series.

Their window closed when they made the trade for Jason Kidd. Magic Johnson had something similar, but not about Kidd.

The Mavericks are done, I feel horrible for Dirk, and even worse for Kidd. For thinking that he was going to win a ring with that soft team.

It wasn't a personal attack. I thought you looked at the record and multiplied the two columns to get a total of 8 games.

So why the chinese comment? You could have just pointed out the error and left it at that.

They'll still lose in the first round, and that's IF they make the playoffs.

The Cuban Effect after the Finals appearance is wearing off. They're not the hot ticket MTV type draw anymore. The Jason Kidd move was like following up "Pimp My Ride" with Steely Dan Unplugged

Not only was your comment unnecessary and racists, but the rolling eyes make you look like [explicit].

    But back to the topic:

I hope the Mavs lose all their games. They suck, they have always sucked, and the will suck for eternity!

Thats what happens when you build your time around a 7'0" that wanders the 3-point line instead of playing closer to the basket and hand out a huge contract to Erick Dampier!

And I would be very, very surpised if they have anything like their 67-win season simply because the competition out West is 10x harder even though it has only been like 2 years.

The top 4 seats are going to the Rockets, Lakers, Hornets, and Jazz. That leaves the Mavs fighting against the Spurs, Suns, Nuggets, Blazers, and Kings fighting for the last four. At best, the Mavs appear to be a 7 or 8 seed and the Lakers, Rockets, and Jazz just have too much low-post power for the Mavs to overcome.

They have always been weak in the low post and that is going to be their downfall again this year.

Thank you. All this love for the Mavs is sickening. Why the hell does anyone feel sorry for them? I hope they don't make the playoffs unless they meet the Rockets in the first round, so they can get swept.
