I've never heard an acceptable definition of what "emo" is. Anyone care to attempt on? Sort of like goth without the goth? I'm curious.
ill give it a shot. emo is emotional hardcore music. they usually wear black and/or black eyeliner and nailpolish. at first glance they might appear to be punk rockers and they might play an aggressive style of music and scream the vocals, but the lyrics are anything but hardcore or tough, usually singing about some girl they like but doesnt like them or how some girl doesnt understand the way he feels about her or how some girl likes some other guy instead of him...not very punk rock subject material in light of your ian mackayes, joe strummers or glen danzigs. basically, they are a bunch of p*****s. "emo" as a term has been around for about 20 years and i could point to some legit "emo" bands that arent total p*****s, but what constitutes "emo" these days is basically catered to the 15 year old mtv crowd. rites of spring from d.c. are probably the first "emo" band. guy from fugazi was in this band. they kicked total ass.
A wigger will at least come to your face if he's got a problem. Emos try to politic and talk **** about you (usually to your female) behind your back.
the genre called "emo" is just plain stupid. and the music they say is classified under EMO, sucks. ALL MUSIC IS EMOTIONAL. get over it.
