I was watching Emeril just now, and he was doing a show on late night sandwich snacks. For me, a late night snack is a turkey sandwich and some cold milk. For Emirel, it's a feast. I just saw the end. He made a meatball sub type thing out of a huge loaf of Ciabatta bread. I wonder who has sauce, meatballs, chopped onions, and mozeralla cheese just sitting around ready to put in a huge ass sandwich that could feed a family. He also made a sandwich where he cooked some onions and ham then put some eggs in the pan mixed with some of his spice, kinda like an omlette.

Imagine if everytime people had the munchies they made extravagent snacks like that. . . Heart attacks galore.

    I know I am doomed.

Living in the hamptons makes it impossible to eat a simple meal. every meal is some kind of event. I personally spend about $12.00 a day on lunch. if you dont go to a "(hamptons)normal" deli and instead go to a "cheap" workers place, you spend about 10 bucks, and get the richest most gormet 4 lbs of mashed potatoes and pepercorn steak smothered in gravy. I cant afford the fru fru gormet stuff.

oh and everything comes with bacon and a sauce out here.

I am not complaining, but i am always dissapointed in the food I get anywhere else I go.

I usually eat at this crazy itallian deli/grocerie that is for the average consumer.

    typical lunch.

    peasant bread/garlic bread
    melted fresh motserella
    hot roast beef
    proscutto
    pesto sauce

    DYN-O-MITE!

    but its gonna kill me.

Man, I don't even know some of this crap they're throwing at these fast-food places now. Like Subway has all their new sauces and different kinds of breads I guess to compete with Quiznos. I liked it when it was "wheat or white". Simple. Now they have all kinds of crap... Asstogo cheese bread, jalapeno marmalade chicken flavored duck sauce bread, and God knows what else. Then I hear the Quiznos commercials and they're talking about Chewbaca bread with Aww Juice sauce. WTF is that crap?!

Gimme the wheat bread with some chicken and lettuce, tomatos, bell peppers, and hold the cheese. Keep yer damn chewbaca bread... Can't even order that crap without bustin' out laughin'.

Dude, I know it's "the hamptons", but please tell me that's a typo and they really don't have "peasant bread". Is that just for the common folk?

maybe its just me, but eating rich and unhealthy food doesn't make me happy, in fact it would depress the hell out of me and piss me off to no end.

    oh please.

its not about quantity of life, but rather quality. I prefer not to have heart trouble and health issues when i get to middle age. I give a damn about my health and my body, so I treat it with the respect it deserves. This has absolutely nothing to do with cynicism or living a lengthy life.

    LMAO!!!!!!

Oh, I had a laughing fit with that, my roommate had to slap my back. . .

Ciabatta bread is actually pretty good. I like that bread at Subway they give you for the sweet onion chicken terryaki. I think it's hearty italian or something.
