I heard a radio advertisement about it a couple of days ago. Every time I've gone to something like this (and it's been probably 15+ years since the last time), the merchandise isn't all that great, isn't really discounted much (if at all) and the sellers are a bunch of slimebags. I recommend you don't waste your time unless you have nothing else to do. Some of the people I've watched get excited and buy stuff at these things need their head examined. It's possible there may be a couple of teaser items to be had at a good price, but I guarantee it's mostly hype.
WHat are they selling at the Convention Center? Like one of those big sales things they did at the astro dome? (car steroes, clothes etc...)
Yeah. They said on the advertisements I heard: -Mp3 players -Video Cameras -Leather Jackets -Computer monitors and other things I forgot. I felt it was too good to be true (the sale is going on throughout the weekend) so I was checking if anyone here was/had going/gone.
they said 80% off. I heard on the radio. Stuff like Wireless routers for 6$ and mouses for 5$ and etc
lol. Don't they have these "emergency liquidation sales" every other month? I remember when I was in Houston, they had them every few months it seemed. They have them here in Dallas, too. You go there and find Allfine stereos, Benmore refrigerators, Swirlpool washing machines, and a bunch of out of box items. Maybe this one's different...
I walked to the GRB yesterday at about 4pm (I work about 2 blocks away). The line to get in was incredibly long (all along the front of the GRB).... all people waiting in line to pay $8 per person to get in the door for the esteem opportunity of buying something. I said 'no thanks'.
I went to one of these ONCE and will never go again. The advertisements on the radio say: "Watches, $10, MP3 players: $5, Video Games: $5, Car stereos: $20" but they don't say what brands they are. THEN they go to say "Brand names like Sony, Hitachi, Pioneer, Kenwood", but they don't say that these brand names are the watches, games, and stereos at the prices so low. Basically, you show up, and they'll tell you all the Sony's and Hitachis and Kenwoods are gone... but you already paid $8 and they've pocketed the money. The only stuff that's left is the Henwood car stereos, the Sonny mp3 players, the Pionere stuff, etc.
i looked up company that is running it, Aroma Senses, LLC., there are bad reviews about them on alot of boards and sites. Basically all the stuff there is 5 years old and most of it is refurb and will break on you. Alot of stuff had to be taken back and exchanged, they wouldnt refund.
Remember going to the toy section at the grocery store? Where there every ANY any quality toys you really wanted there? This thing is worse than that. I did walk out with a cheap bottle of Versace cologne, just cuz I was going clubbing later that and felt I had to leave that dingy setting with something. At least it said Versace, I'm still not sure though.
