Articulate, intelligent, workmanlike, respectful, under-control. Two good games vs. Detroit.

This guy should be the face the NBA sells this year. I love this guy. Don't underestimate him.

Doubt it. He's a genuinely good, well-spoken guy.

I knew him when he was at school there... and scarily enough, he took school just as seriously (if not more seriously) than he did basketball.

While he was a great player when he came in as a freshman, nobody was ever forecasting he would be a great college b-ball player, let alone become a pro. Thus, his primary goals were to get good grades because that was how he was going to make a living... but eventually, he just became too good on the court. Also, the fact that he shot up 5-6 inches from his freshman to senior year had a lot to do with why he eventually chose basketball.

He only started getting some attention his senior year, and none of those schools were big name. It was only when Calhoun saw him at a senior all-star game that he was wondering why nobody was going after this guy.

I will be the deciding factor.

Give me 14 million dollars, and I'll let you know.

Not everyone. He's already a millionaire, still seems like a pretty decent guy. Mutombo was one of the highest payed players in the NBA, he still seems okay. I don't think the big bucks changed David Robinson or Hakeem that much either.

Conversely, big contracts haven't domesticated guys like Artest or AI one bit. Spree thinks he needs $14mil+ to feed his family.

Anyway, I realize that I just stole Fegwu's post, but I think it was an important enough point to be repeated.

One of my favorite stories I heard (possibly here) was how Deke used to walk into bars (when he was in washington DC at college) and put his arms wide apart and say, "What woman wants to sex Mutumbo?" Do that in front of your friends and its solid gold.

Money doesn't really change you. Money makes you more of what you already are.

Put your wallets away people, that one was on the house.
