anyone for an experienced big man on the cheap who can block shots, play some defense, and hit open jumpers? might allow us to keep a dwight, asik, brand rotation.
Are we seriously gonna have a new thread about every free agent out there? post in the current threads man hard to read the important ones with your cluttering of the interweeebbbzz space
Lighten up man. Most of those threads are awfully long and constant change. Brand is someone who could help that I forgot about. Glad he brought it up.
Coming off the bench with Asik? Sure that would work. I really want to keep Asik so he can come off the bench to limit howard to about 30 minutes a game. David West could have been a really good pick up but I doubt we would have been able to afford him.
I remember Brand was an absolute beast during the mid 2000s, and was the only topic of conversation surrounding the Clippers org during that time. What happened? Is age the main factor in his decline, or did he just not mesh well with Dallas and Philly?
Yeah he didn't come to mind either but I agree. If it's a cheap contract sigh him up (if he's willing).
I would be happy to have Brand and Smith backing up Howard. That would also aid Smith's development. Apparently Brand is looking for a contender. If he's willing to sign for the minimum I say we do it. Free ourselves to trade Asik for upgrades at the 4 or backup 2/3.
We need a veteran post player to help the young bigs to develop. Brand may not have the hops anymore, but he knows how to rebound, defend, and hit jumpers. No more getting torched by Luis Scola.
He played for $2m last year. It's not like he would play enough to block development. Veteran leadership (but not just a cheerleader) always helps.
Brand and Chris Kaman low post game for the Clippers used to be like Gasol and Randolph for the Grizz. Speaking of which, how about we get Kaman to backup Howard ?
He's slow and a total shell of the player that he used to be. Doesn't fit in with our uptempo style of play and Dallas was better with him on the bench. Pass.
