was reported on la sports radio i just heard it

seems like there is a realgm link for right now

    realgm

sucks the clippers are my favorite team after the rockets and brand is one of the few guys that works hard and produces every night. seems like the clippers will not be sniffing the playoffs this year at all. i guess if anything this helps al thorton get some more playing time.

they said brand could be out till jan for right now

    Successful Trade Scenario
    Congratulations on a successful trade.

Due to Houston and L.A. Clippers being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and L.A. Clippers had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

at least 6 months even then it might take rehabbing in the next off-season to get back to full fitness if he can fully recover from it.

    don't want him he's done :p

Alston+Butler+Reed for Cassell+Conroy(waivable for $0) could save around $2M, also ship JLIII to the Clips via minimum salary exception, then cut Sura. That could leave enough salary space to give Deke his desired amount and the roster space to keep both Novak & Landry.

Rupturing an AT is about as bad (maybe worse) than tearing an ACL.

He's gone until after the All Star Break, minimum. And it's rare to come back with your previous explosiveness after this. As a post guy, that won't be a huge deal, but it is most likely that he'll be a step slower and his blocks will suffer.

Well, on the bright side, that's a boost for the Al Thorton rookie of the year campaign.

I feel bad about Brand. Couldn't have happened to a guy who deserved it less.

I'm thinking the Clips will now deal Cassell...

If your season is essentially lost, why keep a 37-year-old on the last year of his contract?

Same, perhaps goes, with aging Cat Mobley. Both would fill needs for, say, Miami Heat.

I don't know whether they see Tim Thomas as a long term keeper who will run with Elton upon his return next season, or another trade bait.

I kind of want Tim Thomas for the Rockets.

Really feel bad for Brand... On the other hand, looks like Stevie made the smart move.
