Ouch. You gotta love EB, but he has been robbed of his elite athleticism and will probably never get it back.

Marreese Speights on the other hand, has SERIOUS potential.

Would you guys take a look at eating Dalembert's crappy contract if it meant landing Speights?

    No longer?

I don't think he ever fit in there.

8 points and 6 rebounds in his first regular season game in almost a year? Doesnt sound too bad. Jumping to conclusions a little early huh?

Even when he played last year, he didn't fit in.

Dionte Christmas was arrested for a loaded gun. The car he was driving at the time belonged to Speights. The gun, licensed to Speights.

From what I've read Christmas is supposed to have been a stand up guy during his college career. This situation was out of character for him.

There are teams out there with a need for Brand. Just not many with the roster flexibility to acquire him. He played well his last 8 or so games in Los Angeles, the few games AFTER his injury. So I think he could still be a 2nd tier PF.

Sorry for the double post. I traded Tracy for Brand, Speights, and Young.

Hollinger says Rockets will win 1 more games while Philly loses 45 more games. :D

Philly lost 55 more games with Dalembert, Kapono, Speights, & Young for T-Mac. Dorsey and Cook had no effect when I added them. When I had Lou Williams instead of Kapono, it was 60 something wins. We'd be looking at the first winless team in NBA history.

Dalembert/Smith for Yao = No change in wins for either team.

This is what happens when you give a guy guaranteed money. Brand knows, that the 80 mill will be his last contract, so you got his money, now he doesn't give a F. If this was the nfl, he wouldn't be pulling this bs, cause he would be cut and wouldn't get paid. So a golden rule sould be don't give a guy a huge contract thats about to go in his 30s.

I'd be intrigued by EB, but given this team's existing injury problems, I'd be scared to add one more big salary guy with that kind of history.

EB may not have the same hops, but I think he might still be able to be pretty good given that he is pretty skilled and has ungodly long arms.

Most of the league are on guaranteed contracts :) Philly just isn't a good fit for Brand. If something like a Brad Miller for Brand trade were ever to come up, Brand will be back putting up big numbers.

Maybe Blazers should consider Andre Miller for Brand.

This. I don't know what the heck 76ers were thinking when they give Brand that bloated contract...

Brand with a double-whammy. Doing nothing and will do nothing more in Philly, Clipper organization hates him.

    Double-Whammy.
