Elon officially owns twitter https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/elon-musk-to-acquire-twitter-301532245.html
If people think Twitter is just going allow anything to be posted, they are wrong. Liability will still be there.
I think Twitter is among the dumbest things on the planet. I’ll continue not using it. I’ll give Elon a high 5 if he just deletes it entirely.
btw @JayGoogle , the Babylon Bee is a well-known satire site. Coincidentally, the Bee is also still currently banned on Twitter.
FIFY. I'm actually curious what Musk will do with their account. It appears their suspension is what triggered this whole thing. Does he reverse the change Twitter made in 2018, or does he just ask that it not be enforced going forward?
Elon Musk buys Twitter for $44 billion, tycoon to take platform private Twitter has agreed to sell the company for $44 billion in cash to billionaire Elon Musk, who plans to take it private, a deal with major implications for online discourse. The social media giant's decision to sell will give major influence over public debate to Musk, who has vowed to overhaul the platform to orient it toward free speech. "Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated," said Musk in a statement on Monday. "I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans. Twitter has tremendous potential – I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it." Musk's takeover could also nudge other social media giants to censor less content in order to remain relevant, conservatives hope. "The Twitter Board conducted a thoughtful and comprehensive process to assess Elon's proposal with a deliberate focus on value, certainty, and financing," said Bret Taylor, Twitter's Board Chairman. "The proposed transaction will deliver a substantial cash premium, and we believe it is the best path forward for Twitter's stockholders." So much for your premature, self-congratulatory, arrogant strutting about how much you know about deals like this one. You are a legend in your own mind, that is for sure. But probably not anywhere else. Certainly not here on this forum, when it comes to financial topics such as this one. There is apparently not an award given for most arrogant, misguided and wrong post on this board. If there ever is, your post quoted above will hopefully be entered, as it would surely be a top contender in any such contest that is fairly judged.
Babylon Bee is subject to the same rules there as everyone else. I really hope some of you keep the same energy if Musk's twitter bans all the same people, just direct that energy at him since it will be his fault. He owns it now. So whatever right wing user is banned it's on Elon to own up to it and unban them or else he's really not for free speech.
