Fellow Clutchfans, need some direction and advice. Been with Reliant forever and I'm tired of overpaying. Our house is not very efficient (which is another issue entirely that I will address) and we use a little over 1000 kWh in the winter and sometimes more than double that in summer months. I've been paying $0.145/kWh which I know is insanely high. Hadn't worried about it too much but things have gotten tight and we need to cut wherever possible. If you've been with another provider for a while and are happy, let me know. TXU seems like an obvious choice. One of their plans at $0.095/kWh looks attractive. Other companies I've never heard of go lower. Even Reliant has one for $0.075 but I'm suspicious. Thanks in advance.

If you go here: http://www.texaselectricityratings.com/ You can read user reviews of electric companies. Since everyone gets electricity through Centerpoint, people are basically rating the billing practices and prices of the retailers.
If you are in Centerpoint's region, they launched a site that includes basic and fine print costs: http://www.mytruecost.com/
