Since all the power is provided by CentrePointe, who are you guys using as your meter reasding service / electricity reseller? I was using Direct Energy but they don't have an online system for my to check the bill, no automated system for the phone to check it, and are r****ded slow posting to the account and then charges me late fees because an actual check has to be mailed to them from my online bill pay.

Just signed a new 18 month lease so a 12 month fixed contract is no problem if I can lock in a lower rate.

Checked the Texas Online Comparison tool and was looking at Spark, energy... but I need the real authority: ClutchFans.

Any tips on this before I switch?

I just looked for the cheapest month-to-month and went with Startex. I don't see natural gas prices going up anytime soon so I'm going month-to-month.

Direct has online bill pay...at least if you're living in Texas.

I chose Gexa because at the time they were close to the cheapest and also you get Continental miles.

I have no idea about their online site and I don't care.

I have Reliant Energy and pay my bills online through my Schwab bank account. We have free bill pay, so I don't need to go through the Reliant website.

You could check out https://mycheckfree.com/ to see which ones have online bill pay.

Just go to the link that nwo34life posted. Find somebody you like, and give them a phone and ask about online bill pay. It's probably easier that going through checkfree.

I used Spark last year and was satisfied. The only caveat is that they automatically charge your credit card (at least they did last year). You will receive an email notification of your due amount and about 20 days later, the amount will be charged to the card you have attached to the account. No paper or anything.
