My dryers spins and doesn't heat....I've tried taking down the hose (or whatever its called) in back and cleaning it, there wasn't much in there but its sparkling clean now. Anyways, is there any way I can fix it myself without much work.....any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

How old is the dryer? The heating element may be out.

Well what is the brand and model? My mom replaced her own heating element so you should be able to as well. ;) If that is the problem.

Kenmore Elite Quiet Pack III king size capacity.....

Also, I did some things in this thread to see if it was other things besides the heating element

You've cleaned the lint from the filter, vent, and tubing. I would check the circuit breakers first, not likely but check to be sure. These can sometimes be inside your dryer as well. You may have a disconnected wire within the dryer. The only other thing I would know is the heating element but with such a young dryer, that shouldn't be a problem unless the dryer is heavily used or poorly care for.

Unplug the power cord and check the power cord's connection to the dryer. There shouldn't be any discoloration around the area. Discoloration indicates arcing. You would then have to repair/replace the power cord.
