Didn't he do well in the rookie game? I bet he gets picked up. ------------------ www.swirve.com...The reason Al Gore invented the internet.
Damn!!! I thought he played well for being a rookie and extremely short. Does anyone have an extra 35 cents to give to Krause so he can call someone who has a clue on rebuilding ------------------ "Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored."- (Aldous Huxley) [This message has been edited by BobFinn* (edited March 20, 2001).]
They had to make sure they cleared room for great players like Dragan Tarlac. I guess rookie PGs with a 3 to 1 assist-turnover ratio aren't needed. ------------------
Can we please sign him. He won the National Championship with UConn and would be a better 3rd pg than that CBA guy that plays behind Moochie. ------------------ "We messed with the Bull, and we got the horns." -- Larry Brown "quote" from AirBullard.com
yeah i hope the rockets can pick him up. he seems like a great guy, energizer bunny type. reminds me of scotty brooks, except with better game (but maybe not as good a 3 point shot) seriously, he'd be a great guy to have, plug him in. but yeah, definitely better than colson. ------------------ http://members.fortunecity.com/omar369
How do you know he'd be better than Colson? We've seen a whole 30 seconds of Colson in action. Either way the 3rd string point guard slot on this team is almost non existent. ------------------
I don't think a waived player, this late in the season, would be playoff eligible. Mango ------------------ Get it right or just don't do it! Resistance is futile....you will be assimilated
I knew the little fire hydrant wouldn't last. http://chicagosports.com/bulls/content/story/0,1984,134895,00.html This is interesting, from ROTONEWS.COM: El-Amin had been on the injured list over the last 10 games with knee tendinitis. The party line here is that the Bulls were clearing up the point guard picture. We wonder if there wasn't anything more to it - El-Amin was quoted as saying in Monday's paper that he was really healthy, and had been so for awhile, almost confirming the suspicion that the Bulls were really hiding him on their injured list. ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness." Khalid is aa short fat guard. How many of those exist in the NBA? that's why he's waived. I would not want that guy on my team. We have enough Defensive liabilities. That new guy from the CBA looked good tonight! ------------------
El-Amin was waived for several reasons: 1. He refused to work hard in practice---a Floyd must. What infuriated Flody more than anything was that El-Amin could loaf through practice, and then get into a game and pop 16 points in no time flat. They felt he was a bad influence on the younger and more talented Jamal Crawford who *does* need to work and practice very hard every chance he gets. 2. Too many PG's. Guyton--Drew--Jamal. They never expected El-Amin to make the roster anyway. 3. Not toeing the company line. Never say you're healthy when you're on IR unless you're a player they would NEVER consider trading. 4. Wake up call to the team not to coast these next 15 games or so... 5. He took the last donut out the box when Krause had his back turned. ------------------
Good point, TPL. From what was seen of Colson in his limited play last night, it sounds like he would be a great 3rd sting PG. 6 assists, 6 points and 0 turnovers in 7 minutes??? That's insane production, and he wasn't playing against the Kings 3rd string either, the Kings put their starters back in as soon as the Rockets started coming back again. ------------------ "Any event, once it has occurred, can be made to appear inevitable by a competent historian." So, you mean the worst team in the league doesn't need a guy that scores points in no time flat? Makes sense to me ------------------ "Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored."- (Aldous Huxley)
and so what, if El-Amin is short & overweight. I remember well one rocket, who was short & overweight for his position too ------------------
I predict the Twolves pick him up. He's a Minnesota native and they have no other way of acquiring talent! Just think of all the great battles he and Colson can have in their limited minutes as backups. Moochie will be traded if Colson pans out in any kind of way that is promising. ------------------ Time is a great teacher-- only problem is it kills all its pupils. PowerbizOnline.com
If he was a cancer and loafed around, giving a bad example to the other young, impressionable guys on the team, yeah, he would be waived. I mean, this is the Bulls, it's not like El Amin made a difference to the team. ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
MAN, I'd pick him up in a second -- I REALLY like El-Amin. He's got the skills and the heart to be a quality player -- he reminds me of Barkley in that way . . . not the most athletic player, doesn't care about practice, just brings 120% every game. ------------------ What can change the nature of a man?
Hoop-T, Who said he was a cancer? Tim Floyd? Jerry Krause? Have you heard the players say anything bad about him? Get all the facts before judging someone. ------------------ "Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored."- (Aldous Huxley)
If he is a loafer and a cancer, I don't want him... Rudy hates those types of players. Sometimes I wonder if that is why Carlos doesn't get more playing time. ------------------ "Any event, once it has occurred, can be made to appear inevitable by a competent historian." Lee Simonson
