Either start Lin, or bring in a new starting PG, Bev ain't cuttin' it.

In the Thunder game what was incredible was how 4 of 5 Rockets starters couldn't really get the ball in the basket. Parsons wasn't totally embarrassing at 15 points but Jones with 2, Lin 6, Harden 8 and Dwight 9 is really mind-boggling bad. There's no where to go but up for these guys. There's little chance they'll all be that bad in probably anymore games this season.

 

As it should be...one on one defense for every opposing guards play is not good basketball since it's so easy to lose your man on screens and your really limited to stop especially quick guards unless you play team defense.

Credit should definately go to the team which has improved (except against OKC), but also Lin has to get credit for sticking to his assignment and limiting his opponents freedom and allowing the team to help when required

 

Lin has not played well the last couple of games so I'm not exactly pumped to defend him. But out of curiosity (and obviously with some time on my hands) checked Jrue's games since mid December and he usually takes 13-14 shots a game. The exceptions were: against Blazers, he took 28 shots. Against Clippers, he took 11 shots, and against Warriors, 9 shots. Long way of saying, one reason Jrue only took 9 shots against the Rockets (and scored no points on Lin) may have had something to do with Lin's defense.

Tony Parker took 11 shots on Christmas day which is also on the low side.

 

Lin gets the deer in the headlights look when he is struggling. Might not really bode well for playoff games.

 

Speaking of "deer in the headlights look", does anyone else think it is TJones' default look?

I SUGGEST YOU GET THE REPLAY of that game and Watch it closely. Paul and Dragic were playing the 1 a lot of the time. Bledsoe was witching but the majority of the game it was Dragic and Paul duel and Dragic looked like has all season, fantastic.

 

Yep. He has a very slackjawed expression whenever on camera. He seems shy as well.

 

Dragic has really upped his game this year no doubt. Playing like an all star.

 

In principle - a nice fit (as SG/PG).
Used to be a winner in big games , and can sometimes shoot very well from 3.
(I remeber him too well against Maccabbi Tel-Aviv...)
When drafted (2009) he was in an upward line of yea-to-year improvement.

In reality - no thanks/not sure.
* He doesn't really pass well, or much at all (always low on AST),
* Though he's only 26, looks like gis shooting is over the hill, streaky, or in a slump,
* He performs well in the local league, and has good moments in the Euroleague, but his numbers are much lower in international competitions, and against non-European teams (Olympics, FIBA World Champ), so I figure the size/pace/athleticism barrier plays a part.

Even in the Euroleague last year with Real Madrid he was really inconsistent -
He was OK in the regular season, then horrid in the top 16, than really good in the playoffs and final 4...

Lull has massive buyout clause which the Rockets are not interested in. Plus he dosent want to com to to the NBA. He loves Madrid.Ishe really better option at this point then Brooks or Lin? I don't think so.

Interesting that Lin and Dragic have very similar stats per minutes played this year...Dragic (who is 27 and in his 5th year) is slightly more productive...so if he's fantastic...does that make Jeremy REALLY good???

 

Lin was playing amazing at one point. His shooting has deserted him in the last few games though.

 

Lin and Dragic shouldn't be compared. Dragic is probably in his prime and at his ceiling, Lin is way less experienced and still developing. There are a lot more games to play this season and Rockets fans should really hope for a healthy Lin and just let him play and realize he's still developing.

 

You're right Jeremy is struggling...Funny when you watch Dirk or Durant shoot you EXPECT it to go in...with Lin the last few days you're relieved IF it goes in..

 

Yes, let's compare every player on the Rockets to Durant the 2nd best player in the NBA and Dirk the future Hall of Fame player who may be the best stretch PF to ever play the game...

Virtually everyone looks bad when compared to Durant and Dirk.
