 :p  :(

    but now

    :D

    Long story short....visualize this:

I had the outside of my house painted yesterday. My house is a rancher with a two car attached garage.

I chose three colors....a cappucino gold/brown for the garage doors and one set of wood blinds on a window, a rusty red for the front door and the hardiplank out back, and a cottony white for the trim and porch.

My house has a brick exterior...two tone....beige & light sandstone.
    Roof is dark brown.

The red and white look great. The cappucino gold/brown looks like ass cookies.

I thought it would look cool. Instead my house looks like a Miami Beach pork sandwich stand.

The good news is that my painters didn't finish yesterday due to the rain. I called him up this morning, and he is going to re-paint the garage doors and the one set of wood blinds the same rusty red as the front door. Best news of all is that he thinks he has enough paint leftover to get it done, and he isn't going to charge me anything for my color blindness and design ineptitude.

My buddy who referred me told me that if I like the job they do, I should tip him a 12 pack of Bud Light. I think I'm going to tip him a case of Bud Light now, and refer all of my friends who need exterior housepainting done to him!

OK....my blood pressure is finally settling down now! God bless you, Chilo!

    :D

Just my 2 cents but I've noticed its best to limit the color pallette on a small or one story house. If its me I would limit most of the house to two paint colors and only use other colors sparingly and for accents.

Anyway it sounds like you got a good contractor who was willing to do some repainting for you even though it wasn't his fault that you picked those colors.

It blew me away when he said "no charge" when I talked to him on the phone today. I was fully prepared to pay an extra couple of hundred bucks for my mistake. I think he said he'd do it free because they have to go back out there anyway today to finish, and also I think he's trying to drum up extra business. Either way, this guy is too cool, and really nice for doing this for me. Like I said, I'm tipping him a case of Bud Light for this. He deserves it. :)
