I know Kenny Thomas has vastly improved and he has shown flashes that he is able to play with the big boys. I also know that Walt has proved over the years he, too can step it up at times. However, he is not even in the same zip code as Eddie when it comes to talent. Eddie is better in every aspect of the game...PERIOD. That being said, why are KT and Walt starting over Eddie? I don't care about the minutes played being the same. I think in order for the Rox to perform at their best, they need to have their 2 most talented players (Stevie and EG) on the floor TOGETHER from the start. This guy is Lamar Odom/Tracy Mcgrady (minus the assists perhaps..but they will come) waiting to happen. He doesnt need to play behind guys that he is head and shoulders better than.
Thats why I don't understand how anyone says he will play the 3 spot. I mean he can't beat out Walt. If Rudy can look and say truthfully that Walt helps his team more than Eddie, then so be it, but lets be for real. The brass or people on this board say one thing , but I see another. If they envisioned him and "Mo Malone" Taylor playing together "complimenting" each other, how come with the way Walt is playing, Griffin and Thomas can't do the same? If they truly intend on him playing the 3 spot, how come when walt gets hurt, they play Morris there. I just don't get it. How does Walt start in front of Eddie or Thomasfor that matter is beyond me.
I agree completly with both NJRocket and leebigez. What does Walt bring to the table that Eddie does not? The only thing he is able to do is shoot the ball and he's not doing that this year. One or two games tops but that's it. Eddie has proven that he should start no matter if it's over Walt or Kenny. The rebounds and blocks alone should have him on the starting line up. Kenny has shown at times that he belongs but Walt hasn't shown me a damn thing. Eddie should be starting hands down...
Odom is farther ahead of Griffin in handles than Griffin is above Cato in handles. Griffin blows Odom out of the water in other abilities. I am unsure how Eddie at three would work. He couldn't be any worse at it offensively than Shannon Doherty and would bring some help defense to the spot. I haven't been impressed with Griffin's perimeter defense, but he hasn't really had a chance to develop it.
