Any tips on preparing for the gre? the kaplan course any good? any particular software or books you guys recommend? thanks
Study your words...get a box of flashcards and just go over them every night...depending on how much time you have I'd say about 10-20 words a night and memorize. The next night go over the ones from before and learn another 10-20, etc. etc. The math didn't seem so hard, it's just algebraic stuff I believe. I think the writing is just your typical 5 paragraph essay. Not too bad. The words seemed to take the most time when I was studying it.
Also, there are a lot of logic problems on it....make sure you go back in and look at word problems that are logic related. Also bone up on some math like Algebra, get your old universal equations down. As I recall, it was not very hard overall. DD
Take lots of practice tests. Definitely know your words. Half of the Verbal content is completely word definition-based (i.e. Antonyms and Analogies). The Quant is not so bad. There's a little geometry on it, but nothing too difficult. Multiple-choice math is great because you have so many angles you can use to approach the question. Just know your formulas. Remember, most importantly, take lots of practice tests. This site helped me out a lot. http://www.mygretutor.com/
I don't remember any logic questions.. just high school math. More Geometry than I expected. But the Math was easy if high school Math (before Calculus) was easy for you.. Essay..just make sure you write 5 paragraphs and make the intro and conclusion good summaries
