Your thoughts? At this point, I'd say its gotta be Paul Pierce.

Pierce had a horrible game 3 ... but he's been huge in their wins. I'd vote Pierce as well.

I obviously depends of how the last game(s) play out, but as of right now I'll give it to Ray Allen. But it's a close call so the last game(s) should be counted.

Ray Allen has played well in this series, but I think Paul is still the leading candidate because he has played so well for the entire run in the playoffs.

He did a really good job defensively tonight to make Kobe work. It's not like Pierce is well known for his defense, so it was just a bonus to see him working so hard on both ends.

but I agree the last game will help to make the final decision.

He'll be remembered as the greater player, if that's what you mean.

Tough one, between Pierce and Allen. I think the 'tie-breaker' is in the next Celtics win, whomever plays bigger will be the MVP. I am putting my money on Pierce should there be a 'tie' between the two, simply because he's the life-long Celtic and is considered to be the better all-around player. That plays into it more than people are willing to admit.

...until McGrady does something worthwhile. He's not "worse" than Pierce, he just isn't as big a winner now that Pierce has a ring (or will have a ring, rather).

That's just the nature of the beast, and McGrady still has ample opportunity to make a difference, his career isn't over yet...not by a long shot. There's just one more thing he and Yao need before I can adequately judge their careers as players: see my sig.

PP. I am so impressed by his defense. I think he deserves the 1st defense team more than Kobe. Of course, his offense is impressive too. He is one of the most balanced players in this league.

Pierce has the most talented team to the point its absurd, what was your first reaction when you thought Allen and Garnett were going to join him? And then cassel

Yet it took nothing short of him playing on the biggest of stages to get that recognition, before that the nation wasn't too interested in him. Similarly, they dismissed KG and Allen and bunch of other all-stars who never quite could get over the hump. Same will always hold true for any superstar player, unless your name is Lebron or Kobe and you have a huge hype machine behind you, then you will have to get to this point before people start to notice you and appreciate your game.

McGrady is no exception, Yao is no exception...the good news is they're still young and Rockets' brass have time to get the right pieces around them; hopefully sooner rather than later.

No, the next question should be who is better? Ray Allen or T-Mac? :D

Paul Pierce would probably get it, he's both deserving and has that career Celtic thing going as a nice story.

Ray Allen has been big butright now Pierce wins it easily. He did a great job in game one and 2.

I think Kevin Garnett played more consistently than the other two...

Garnett has rebounded and defended consistently... Allen's shot has been hitting consistently... Pierce has had the best all around game... I'd say Pierce for now.
