I'm sorry guys but Eddie doesn't seem to have improved from last season. I'm not saying he's not good or anything. His defense and rebounding is critical. But I just didn't see an improvement on the offensive end. Also, I didn't see any meat on him. He seems to not have gain any weight at all. I'm sure his strength has improved. I'm afraid that with all the talent we have now, Eddie won't get a chance to show his true game. What do yall think?

It was one preseason game. It does not detail what is going to happen the whole season.

But this was not just any pre-season game. Eddie had a great match-up. I would expect him to out-hustle Gooden. He did do an average job defensively (he fouled out though) but I give the win to Gooden (for that match-up).

Steve Francis our Leader and Point Guard needs to include him more, in the flow and action of the Game!

You can't make too big of a deal out of this, because it is just one measly preseason game. However, I do worry about Griffin being able to really show what he can do with all the other options the Rockets have. I think he'll prove himself just fine on defense and rebounding, but I'm still unsure about the offensive end. He's not the type of guy who is going to demand the ball, so Rudy will have to demand that the other players get it to him. I suppose if he turns out to be a solid defender/rebounder and a mediocre scorer he would still be a success, but I had higher expectations.

Eddide didn't seem to improve much this off season, but I hope he shows a differrent approach to the next pre-season game; I mean he only establish position in the post twice in the entire game. Why would anyone want to blame Francis for Eddie lack of aggresiveness, you could blame Rudy before you blame the Franchise. Why blame any body though we WON!!

Remember, he dominated in the summer leagues! I think it's just a matter of him finding his role in the Rocket's offense, and with all the firepower the Rockets have, that role may only be 8-10 shots a game.

Let me reiterate. Eddie did show a lack of aggresiveness, but I beleive that he still could be the stellar power forward for the Rockets in the Future. He just didn't seem ready as far as to dominate as so many people want him to do right now. I still would like him to start by the middle of this season, but thats just wishful thinking. Because with Maurice big contract I doubt that Rudy will put him on the bench unless Griff is out shining him in every way.

I don't want to call people blind....but I saw more mass on ed ever so slightly....Also he was more effective in the low block compared to last year...he barely dribbled the ball but reports say that he has worked on that...

Also I really like the combination of Eddie and KT as the forwards...Offensively, we should post up the opposing small forward with either of them. If teams (such as the Grizz) put a 3 on Eddie, let's post him up...if they put a 3 on KT, let him do the posting up...

It was also the first preseason game, for a team who is the middle of an offense makeover.

I say let's wait until about 20 games into the season before we announce the king has no clothes on.

BTW, I saw EG on the O low block last night. That is something I don't remember seeing at all last year. He only got 10 shots last night. I suspect when everybody is more comfortable with the new offense that he will get more like 15 per game.

I saw improvements in Eddie. He had better moves to the basket and understood where to position himself on defense. He could have been more aggressive, but he just turned 20 and hopefully will develop a tougher mentality.

so if next game he goes for 20 and 10 is he the starting power forward in the west? there's so many knee-jerk reactions one way or the other. imo there is no possible way that eddie hasn't improved since last season but i wouldn't base it ONE PRESEASON game. i'd say just last night he posted up twice the amount he would have in a week last year, but unfortunately his shot was off. in the first half especially he looked very quick on defense, with the steal and a couple blocks.

Lets be realistic not every player on one team can average15 plus points. Average Points Per Game does not measure every players worth nor value his contribution to a win. Who scores more points than who is a destructive way of rooting for a team. It can make one say things like Terrance Morris outshined Griffin or Francis needs to be a leader and pass to Ming more so his scoring stats will look good on the sports sheet. Eddies presence and play helped this team win last night. Thats all that really matters. He may not of hyped up his fantasy stock but he played within the flow of the game. All of his shots were good shots that seemed to flow his way. Nothing was forced. There will be games where the game flows differently and calls on him to flick his wrist a lot more. But last night the call was aimed at Morris and he answered it nicely.

And on Eddie fouling out: I see that as a good thing. To me it means he making an effort to play defense.

Eddie's play last night made me glad we have Maurice Taylor for some offense from the power forward position at least for this season this season since we want to go to the playoffs now..

Howeve, Eddie is young and can get better. Until he learns to dribble at least average for a power forward he won't amount to much offensively unless he can gain about another 30 pounds of muscle to just bull his way to a post up game.

We must remember that Jermaine O'Neil and others did not amount to much at that age either.

Disappointed with Eddie, but still hopeful.

i dont see any similarities in griffin, and van horns game. griffin blocks shoots and rebounds, while van horn is just soft.
