Just found out Eddie Sefko is about to take over as the Mavericks beat writer for the Dallas Morning News. He is replacing a moron, so he can only be better than what we had. Any opinions about Sefko from Rockets fans? Strengths? Weaknesses? Is this good or bad news for Mavs fans?

IMHO...it'll be about the same. Sefko is a moron. So you've lost a moron and gained a moron. Net sum = zero.

There's a reason Sefko lost his Rockets beat writer job to Jonathan Feigen and was reduced to writing golf for the Chronicle.

Not that Feigen is any better.

Whats wrong with Feigen? I think he is pretty damn good. I dont remember much about Sefko, but I didnt think he was that bad either.

Anyways, no one can be as bad as Blinebury and that Latin dude.

Damn, that's a name from back in the day...

I don't think it matters where the hell he goes....he sucked anyways as a writer..

IMO Feigen's writing is bland and he doesn't seem to have a really good grasp of the facts. I'm not really thrilled with any of the beat writers the Chronicle has. I'd much rather see Carlton Thompson write on the beat (unless he's doing the Texans beat...I haven't paid attention to that beat).

I agree that Feigen is no all-star as a beat writer, but he is a level above Sefko, so we take what we can get.

I don't get the Chronicle, but I think that whoever writes for the Rockets should be a fan as well. Who wants to read a piece that has no passion in it? The guy has to love basketball at least and get excited about potential. Feigan sounds like he is miserable in his own life and takes it out on the fans.

Sefko sucks, and the Mavs suck, so it should be a perfect fit.
