Free Agent Forward to Ungergo Toe Surgery NEW YORK -- Free-agent forward Eddie Robinson failed a physical Friday with the New York Knicks, who were set to sign him to a $1.3 million contract for the remainder of this season. Robinson, who has a bone growth disorder in his toe, has decided to undergo surgery that will sideline him from six weeks to three months. Robinson agreed to a buyout with the Chicago Bulls earlier this month, receiving $10.5 million of the $13.2 million he was due over the next two seasons. "He's already getting paid for the next year and a half, so we decided to go ahead and get the surgery done," agent James Bryant said. The Knicks, who bought out Shandon Anderson's contract earlier this week, had only 11 players in uniform for Friday night's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Allan Houston, Bruno Sundov and Jamison Brewer are eligible to be activated from the injured list after Saturday night's game at Indiana.
