I realize that Eddie has been suspended but is the any further word on him. Is he suspended for the year? When does his court case start? Did the Rockets decide not to re-sign Eddie because it looks like he will be sitting in jail soon?
The reason that you stated might be one factor that caused the Rockets not to resign him. He is too much trouble and is a bad image for the Rockets. My opinion is that he is not even a good player. Everytime I watched him play he never showed any emotion on the court, on the bench, etc....Its like he didnt even care about playing, he was just doing it because he had to...
In a situation like thios-is Houston responsible to pay Griffin with all these self inflicted problems?? Does his status change now that he is suspended? If his suspension means the rockets are not obligated to pay - does the Eddie Rookie money count against the cap? To get the small cap relief from the rookie contract-would the Rockets need to formally waive Griffin??

He is not being paid right now. Yes, he counts against the cap. He will count against the cap this year no matter what. We cannot get rid of his cap hit by waiving him (see Matt Maloney).

If I had to guess I would say that Eddie is a hospital right now in the mental ward. He is quiet and doesn't say a word. The other patients call him Chief because he smells of reffer. Once hearing the news that MoT was suspended for 10 games he throws a water fountain through a window and escapes, and as we speak is running to the Westside training facility to save the Rockets season.
Thanks AndyMoon... Dumb questions on my part. This is a problem...I do feel for Eddie- depression is not "self inflicted"-I should not have put it that way- I meant the police calls to his house and allegations of gunshots and assault on his girlfriend....
Thats BS depression is self inflicted if you got it from smoking dope and not living up to your responsibilitys.
