I was at Edwards Theatre tonight and spotted Eddie Griffin on my way out. I think he was just coming to see a movie. He was with a short, attractive girl and just replied with a "hey" when I stared at him with goo goo eyes and said "That's Eddie Griffin!" to my girlfriend. I unfortunately don't have much meat, but I did overhear him talking to two other guys. The first conversation went as follows: Man: Wow, Eddie Griffin! You're how old? Eddie: 20. Man: Wow! 20 years old and you're already a millionaire! Wow! A millionaire... Eddie: Yeah. Obviously not much but comic relief. The next was a little more interesting. Man: Hey Eddie, what do you think about that Yao guy? Eddie: I don't really know. (very non enthusiastically) Man: Are we really going to trade for Lamar Odom? Eddie: Yeah, I just don't know. I don't know. At that point I just stopped staring and left. Obviously Eddie was annoyed and just wanted to get to his movie and have more girlfriend time(trust me!). I guess there wasn't much to what he said and he definitely wasn't letting any secrets out, but he for sure gave a dismal "I don't really know" when asked about Yao. I for one would not like it if my team's two biggest cornerstones(Francis and Griffin) weren't thrilled with the new draft pick, but I guess I can't say for certain that Griffin doesn't want Yao, that was just his tone. Alright, well that was my moment in the sun spotting a Rocket and hearing him say stuff. Hopefully someone will be interested...
all that is not important. What is important: Did he look the same? I know you can still hide muscle on a guy, but could you tell he bulked up at all?
Eddie did not appear to have bulked up noticeably at all. That's not to say he hasn't, but he just looked the same to me. On a good note, he still has 4 months to do so and at least he didn't get fat like another Rocket power forward.
now did he look 6'10" or more like 6'11"? p.s. i know there's no smileys, but that meant that i was trying to be funny...
i saw Clyde "the Glide" at Edwards too last weekened. The one off of 59 & Weslayan near the Compaq Center. I cut in front of him in the ticket line and probably pissed him off but I did not notice it was him until after I was signing the credit card receipt.
Don't. Edwards is the biggest rippoff of all time. 7.75 for a movie, plus 2 dollars parking. ****ing ridiculous. However... its just so damn convenient.
The one on I-10 has free parking. Still doesn't make the ticket any cheaper, but it does have that Giant Screen, which, let me say, is dissapointing if you're not watching an IMAX type film. I was at that one last night and watched Minority Report (decent flick) on the Giant Screen. I was expecting it to be like IMAX size. Instead they pretty much have the same size as the other theatres and just dont use the whole screen.
I was at Edwards Theatre last night and spotted Eddie Griffin on my way in. I think he was just coming to see a movie. He was with a tall, attractive girl and just replied with a "sup" when I stared at him with goo goo eyes and said "That's Eddie Griffin!" to my girlfriend. Eddie: He's the 2nd coming of Shaq. (very enthusiastically) Man: Are we really going to trade for Lamar Odom? Eddie: Yeah, definitely. At that point I just stopped staring and left. Obviously Eddie was annoyed and just wanted to get to his movie and have more girlfriend time(trust me!). I guess there wasn't much to what he said and he definitely wasn't letting any secrets out, but he for sure gave a encouraging "He's the 2nd coming of Shaq" when asked about Yao. I for one would not like it if my team's two biggest cornerstones(Francis and Griffin) weren't thrilled with the new draft pick, but I guess I can say for certain that Griffin does want Yao, that was his tone. Alright, well that was my moment in the sun spotting a Rocket and hearing him say stuff. Hopefully someone will be interested... Sorry no photo. I will try to take a few next time if i run into eddie again.
No, I unfortunately do not have pics. Who carries a camera to a movie theater? And yes, it was the Edwards Grand Palace by Compaq Center.
****, who doesn't.... how do you think I got my SW Ep 2 DVD? You should've had video, baby.... jk... LOL
Speaking of Rockets & theaters, I saw Moses Malone on my way out of Cinamark theater (Beltway 8 & Richond) last night. Anyone know if he llives in that area? He still looks like he could step out on the court & play! Also Eddie lives in my subdivision & I saw him driving out the other day. In his car he looked about the same size.......for what that is worth! I jog by his house every day, but have yet to see him out side.
] Hey, I was there last night for the first time to to check out the big screen with minority report, I was kinda dissapointed to that it was only about half the screen size. But the movie was awesome
I saw Moses Malone once. His son is a WR for Friendswood, and they were playing us (Magnolia). I was on the Freshman team and we had like aprreciation night. I was wearing a jersey and I went to turn it in and walked bu his son who seemed pretty tall.(I think hes only like 6'6"). His son was talking to another tall guy and I looked up and was like, hey its Moses. I didnt want to interuppt them because there were like five people so I just kept walking.
I just saw Steve Francis at the Galleria about 30 minutes ago. Just said what's up to him, not much of a story but he didn't look like he had gotten fat or anything.
C'mon el grande queso, yea right! And I was chillin' at the movie with Stevie talking about how we shouldn't draft Yao Ming. And how he isn't allowed to comment but all these fan's feel free to voice their opinion. Steve has a right to his opinion, far more of a right than we do to slam him for voicing it.
