Eddie Griffin should start the rest of the season, yes even over KT

Finally Griffin is getting into a comfort zone and is showing a world of ability. Tremendous.

Although I am not giving up on the season yet, the playoffs are a long shot. Rudy T would be completely stupid if he took Griffin out of the starting lineup.

If Kenny Thomas is going to start, then at least move Eddie to the three spot, and when Rice comes back, Rice will come off the bench. I think this scenario is the most likely option.

If Rudy puts Griffin on the bench, that would be the worst decision. This guy is going to be good, and he needs all the seasoning he can get. That late three he made showed me a lot. It wasn't exactly the easiest of shots.

I'd like to see Griffin start at the 4 and KT at the 3. it would help solve some of our rebounding issues for one, and rice/walt really don't deserve starting roles right now anyways.

Thats all fine and dandy, but Rudy is loyal to a fault. When KT comes back , Eddie will go to the bench, just like when Rice comes back Torres will too. It sux, but he's always done it that way.

id' rather have griffin in the games all this year.. getting time and practice in.. and making some mistakes now than have him making those mistakes in a few years when we are competing.. i think griffin must continue to get 25 minutes plus a game..

I think everyone is getting a little too excited over a mere 3 games that EG has played. I love that he is producing just as much as the next guy, but in no way do these games justify sending KT to the bench, when he has rightfully done a great job filling in for Mo in our starting lineup. I think that Eddie's time will come for this team, albeit not immediately.

I am for switching KT to the 3 and Eddie to the 4 if Rudy would go with that. I also think that EG should log in the 25+ minute range from here on out.

Griffin & KT both deserve the starting roles! I don't see Rudy's point that Griffin can't play the 3 at all! Griffin passes better than Rice, runs better than Rice, and shoots better than Rice (even from long range) he could be a Shareef type SF and w/ better defensive game and range. Trade Taylor for LaFrentz in the summer and we got a competitive front court!

Start KT and just let Griffin ease his way off the bench. Give him minutes off the bench, but why start him? He's going to hit that rookie wall eventually and I'd rather ease the pressure off of him by letting him come off the bench and adjust to the team instead of throwing him in the starting position then having a lot of people scream from the stands to get Griffin the ball every time down the floor.

I would never trade Mo T for LaFrentz straight up (not to mention that Denver would never let that happen), unless you threw in someone else good from Denver.

I agree that Rudy and CD are loyal to a fault, and that is why Easy Money(EG) will go back to the bench when Dog Face(KT) returns. Easy Money should start at 4 with Dog Face at 3 and Rice coming off the bench, possibly behind Oscar Torres who deserves major minutes also. This bad situation has turned into a good dilema for the Rox. And yes EASY MONEY should be EG's nickname!

You can tell Eddie is still a little gun-shy. Very Rookie and pulls a lot of shots, not shootin' it until his 3rd or 4th thought....still, KT has had a better (his best?) year, but the kid is still better than Thomas.

I'm in favor of Griffin starting, but not over Kenny Thomas.

Yes, his double-double was nice, but Thomas has been playing pretty well for a couple of years now. I don't think Griffin has "earned" it quite yet.

Kenny is only going to be a reserve. Eddie has the potential to be a star in the league. I don't see why so many people love Kenny so much. Eddie is just as good offensively and ALOT better defenseively. Give the man some more PT and he'll have a chance at ROY.

i dont see kenny as ever being more than a quality role player.. this season is pretty much down the drain so everything possible needs to be done to give this potential superstar a chance to develop his game..

and i think we are all getting excited about afew games.. because he's only gotten the chance to get extende minutes in a few games and he has produced

I would really like Rudy to just throw positions out the door and just put the best players on the court!

I would like to see KT and Griffin both start but I dont think it will happen,as soon as KT comes back I believe Rudy will put Griffin back on the bench.

I have liked what Eddie has been doing all season long. His only problem is a little to many outside shots but If you can remember KT did that as well.

I think everyone overlooks how many picks Eddie gives,I see the man giving 2 and 3 picks EVERY play.I would like to see some pick and cut plays with Griffin and Steve/Mooch.

Eddie is only going to get better,on or off the bench I just hope he gets more than 15-20 minutes a game like before!!!

The Rockets clearly see Griffin as a 4 or a 5, as he is yet to log a single minute at the 3 this year.

The questions for Rudy to ask himself are:

    1. Has Griffin's outstanding play warranted a starting position?
    2. If so, does it warrant a position over a guy who has paid his dues, and is playing solid 12/8 ball in his own right?
    3. If not for #2, do his abilities and skills overcome the physical deficiencies he would face playing large minutes at center as a 6'10'' 220 lb. 19 year old?

The Rocket's SFs and PFs are really pretty much interchangible in my opinion. I think Kenny Thomas should start at the 3, and Griffin at the four for three reasons.

They have both earned starting spots.

Griffin needs to get used to his eventual position- poward forward/center.

Thomas is the most well rounded option for the Rockets at the 3. He can play better defensively than Rice or Walt, crashes the boards well, and play much better offensively than Morris or Langhi.

I wouldn't worry about who's nominally a 3 and who's nominally a 4. To get a healthy distribution of height, weight, and talents, I'd play Griffin with KT or Rice, and I'd play Mo with Torres or Tmo.

I would play whomever is performing that night. Right now it is Griffin, I would bet that KT will not sit out any more as he feels the pressure from the young man.

Do you continue to let a 12/7 guy start in front of some one that is averaging 20/10/2 as a starter just because the 12/7 guy has paid his dues? Not me.

KT is not scheduled to come back until the 28th. Eddie will get one more start between now and then so lets just see how he does. If he has anouther big night then I think Rudy has a tough decision.

One other thing. Has anyone noticed that Mooch actually got the ball down low to Eddie a few more times in the last couple of games? Eddie has great hands and looks really good close to the basket on offense so I hope to see him get some more chances close to the basket in the future.

EG would be better suited to play the 3. Kenny would get beat and doesn't have that type of recovery range. Kenny is more of a banger and wouldn't have that speed advantage over opposing 3s. EG has proved he is a threat from long range and has a size advantage over 3s. What he lacks in speed is made up with his length and shot blocking abilty. He's contributing more than Rice was and should start. He is young but he gives us the best chance to win and if not playing him gives him need playing time.
