As far as skills go. Like Sheed, Eddie can rain 3s all night. I would say that Eddie is a slightly better shotblocker and rebounder than Sheed right now. If Eddie can develop a low post game like Sheed has, they will be basically carbon copies. As I tried to go to sleep last night, I was trying to figure out who our rookie wonder was most like. Duncan came to mind, only because they are both non-chalant. Webber came to mind, since Webber can shoot the lights out, but Webber is a better passer and ballhandler. So, I've come to the conclusion that we have a young Rasheed Wallace on our hands. It's scary that he can get 17 and 10 a night, without having a post-up game whatsoever. When he can develop a post-up game, which will lead to more FT's, Eddie will be a 25 and 12 (a few extra offensive boards) guy for 10+ seasons.
Like Sheed, Eddie can rain 3s all night. Who said sheed can hit 3s all night? Wallace hits 3s at a 30% rate.
There's a bit of Rahim, too...His production is similar to Wallace(projected), but his style is a bit more Rahim/Duncan...ie. smooth vs. explosive. He doesn't play with size (yet?) like Duncan, so I'd say somewhere between Rahim and Wallace...except, he may already have hit more clutch shots than Rahim ever has...
Wallace is not a 3-pt shooter and can't rebound. I'd also like to think Griffin can put the ball on the floor better. I don't like that comparison.
I think Eddie's a little quicker than Sheed, and is probably a better defender. Why were you trying to figure out who he's like? Who's Duncan like? Who's Shaq like? (I know he's not that good, I'm just using examples. Not to say he can't be as good.) Griffin is a type of player, and you should start finding who the next griffin is.
Van Horn and Wallace are much better offensive players off the dribble than I think Eddie will ever be. Eddie's more of a true big man inside a skinny, young frame right now. He's definitely worlds better than both defensively. Verse actually started a thread posing basically the same question earlier this week and the only guy I could think of was LaFrentz, at least w/ regard to 3's, rebs, and blocks. Another guy would be Sam Perkins, but he was not really a defensive stopper. I guess Griff is like the supercharged deluxe version of LaFrentz.
