This dude is Garnett and Webber all rolled into one with a better defensive presence and outside shot! I hope the Suns do WHATEVER it takes to get him even if it means trading Kidd.

If you guys get a chance at him, you'd (HOU GM) be stupid to not take him....

We wont be in that range. he is a 1-5 player.

We can only get him if we trade up and noone wants to give up a top 5 pick in a draft that is pretty good like this one.

VJ, on the contrary--because this draft is probably going to be good and more importantly, very deep, I think teams will be willing to give up those high picks so long as they they get significant compensation (picks later in on in the draft). However, I doubt our picks would be high enough to get Griffin, unless we get either of the picks Orlando and Detroit owe us.

What's so weird is, everybody just naturally assumes the majority of the top players are coming out--imagine if only seniors were to come out this year...what a crappy draft that would be...

I think we need to beat up rusted peace for daring to wish good luck on the Suns on a rockets message board. [IMG]

Prem, even though it is a deep draft, there is still a large difference between the top 5 picks and the even the next 5.

It would be like Griffin vs. Grizzard.

Sure Grizzard is good, but griffin is the best.

Top 5 picks are always a hard thing to come by.

We might be able to land a top 3 pick in the lottery(hopefully we are in the playoffs, but if not...)

Hey VJ...I agree totally--that's why I said I still don't think the Rockets could get in the top 5 without giving up a lot more than draft picks. The difference between this year and last, then? Last year the Nets were offered Orlando's picks and declined...I doubt the team with the #1 would pass an offer like that over so easily in this draft...Yes, Griffin is best...but depending on the situation with a particular team, I could see somebody with a top 3 pick giving it up for, say, Grizzard, Haywood, and Murphy...now THAT is best.

Please don't think I'm being snappish or anything...just my particular opinion.

I dont know if i would trade Griffin for those three.

If you compared them to NBA players it would be like: Cato, Lafrentz, and Jalen Rose for Garnett.

Those are the players those guys are compared to.

I would have to think about that deal before pulling the trigger on it.

I don't think that current NBA comparison is totally fair--for one, I think Haywood will be a more serviceable center than Cato is(where people get off comparing those two boggles my mind--they are very different players), and two, I don't think Griffin will be as good as Garnett is (and can possibly be).

I say let some other team have Eddie Griffin, even if he's on the board when the Rockets draft. This dude has been notorious for wrecking locker room morale (he punched out a guy on his own team). I'd bet money that he'll end up like Payton - great talent but absolutely poisonous to the team.

Eddie Griffin is rippin it up.

Seton Hall is stinkin' it up.

After the infamous punch at Ty Shine, the Pirates have gone seriously downhill, and a team that very nearly upset Illinois may not qualify for the Big East tourney.

Let some other team have him.

Didn't I read somewhere (perhaps SI??) that he says he was not going to come out this year? I know that he could easily change his mind, but it is still something to think about.
