Assuming that his career is over, can you think of other players that have been bigger bust than Eddie? Players who had there careers cut short due to injury do not count. Here's a few that I can think of... I searched and started from 1990 onward. 91- Doug Smith. 6th pick 94- Sharone Wright. 6th pick 98- Robert Traylor. 7th pick 99- Jonathan Bender. 5th pick I left out the ones in 00 and onward since it is still a bit early to tell.
Sam Bowie, considering he was drafted in front of Jordan, it doesn't get any bigger than that. Not even close.
True. Not saying that Bowie would have come even come close to an MJ but to be fair, he was a pretty decent center until he had a brutal injury. Eddie on the other hand is just simply an idiot with very little skills.
and I sincerely doubt Eddie Griffin's career is over. I bet he's signed to another team within the week.

Eddie was a bust but 99% of the people on this board thought we practically robbed the Nets. I can't blame CD for that move. But, not drafting (or not signing) Rashard Lewis is the biggest mistake that CD has made.(repeatedly) But CD even has an excuse for that move. We had our eyes on Pippen. The Mo Taylor signing was pretty bad but I am almost sure that we had a wink wink deal with him when we signed him to the one year exception. For the life of me, I cannot understand why we signed Moochie to such a unfavorable deal. I mean, we were the only team in the market for him. Even if he had other options, we still could of signed him to a shorter deal. I guess the Rockets were trying to keep Steve happy with that move. He has also had some successes. Cassell, Horry, Cat, Francis trade, Mario Ellie (for a 2nd rounder).. I am going to say that he has done an average job but I will start from scratch and give him a very short leash.
I don't know what Pick he was in the draft but Harold Minor was a major bust, "baby Jordan"- hahaha....Aisaah Rider was good for a few years but he disapointed in terms of his overall career, he had a terrible attitude but he could score on anybody anytime he wanted. I guess his attitude and drug problems screwed him. I bet Eddie Griffin is going to end up making the Rockets look terrible in the long run. I can see him using this as a motivation and turning into the player he can become. How bad will the Rockets look if he goes elsewhere and turns into a Jermaine O'neal or Kevin garnett type player. The guy has problems but hey that is what life is all about, going through struggles and learning from them. Tests can only make one stronger if one comes through it.
Sam Bowie, i must agree, because of the Jordan factor. i also agree with Rocket River about cRyin' Leaf transcending all sports as the bust of a lifetime. Eggie is not even the biggest Rockets bust: Mirsad Tukan. he played zero minutes for zero points, zero rebounds, zero assists (well, i guess zero turnovers and zero pf's must be worth something.) i can't even get back into the whole Rashard thing...
Pick after us to Miami. I remember being at the summit during that draft. That was fun! HOOORRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYY!
