I have seen people say they have sold stuff on ebay or amazon but generally I think it is the auction thing and/or a 1 time thing. I was looking at the stores they have there and wanted to see if anyone had any experience with them Rocket River
https://www.amazon.com/gp/seller-account/mm-product-page.html http://pages.ebay.com/sellerinformation/index.html Hopefully that helps. If you're looking for personal experience with those services unfortunately I don't have any. I've just sold a couple of items on eBay but never opened a store front.
I'd be interested in hearing everyone's experiences too with this. Share all of your secrets, please.
Ive actually started selling some things on ebay the past couple weeks. I'm going to be putting up alot of basketball jerseys and Polo Ralph Lauren shirts in the next month. Check ebay seller Ben_Stillman As far as a store on ebay, not i do not have one. But if someone does, i'd love to know more about the perks and how much cheaper or more expensive it is to have an ebay store.
I used to buy and sell a lot of cell phones/accessories on ebay. I would easily ship out 20+ boxes a week. I looked into opening a store, but found no real benefit, so I didnt.
I have had stores on both. Currently have one on amazon, amazon uk and amazon de. Amazon has no individual item listing fees, but charge $40 month + commission for sales. In many categories they set the shipping price, so in some cases you have to make up lost money in shipping by raising your prices. Ebay stores charge a monthly fee, also charge per item (charge depends on which level store you buy), and a commission on sold items. I get the feeling they are trying to move to buy it now sales as the bulk of their business, with auctions losing even more share as time goes on. I stopped listing on ebay because overall fees were greater than half of my sales. If you want to sell on either, check out the competition. If there is little or none it might be worth it. You can load items to either either one by one or using a bulk selling tool, which will be frustrating at first, but a huge time saver once you get the spreadsheet worked out. Let me know if you have any specific questions.
Ive had a ebay store for about 1 year or 2 now. It is frustrating to say the least when you have to deal with their layouts and how you make a mistake and you cant change some parts of the ad. Then you just have to totally end the listing. I don't know about white lighting but as far as my store is concerned it doesn't cost me anything. I think its free if I keep listing stuff on it, or maybe it was a recent change. The ebay+paypal fees are massive. Like super massive. I am talking about 6-8% even maybe more depending on what you sell. I know for electronics they take a ton. I use it to help sell old inventory and odds and ends. It works if you have a great product that noone else really has, like we do, it might be harder if you are one of the million people who are trying to sell iphone cases. My advice is to make sure to mark up your items enough.
Are you wanting feedback from those who have sold using the stores or those who have bought from user stores?
