Earl is opting out of his contract, would you be pleased if the Rockets gave some of their MLE to him?

Maybe the Rockets should look at him. I mean, they only have PGs: Mike James, Vspan, Lucus, Alston and Head.

We might need a 6th PG. You never know about injuries!

This is a sound strategy. Hoard mediocre - non starter NBA point guards

Let Chuck and Yao handle the front court

Say yes to Earl! I've always liked his game and we finally found our enforcer for Yao, Boykins is strong, he benched over 300lbs at a body weight of 135lbs.

first we need to get rid of at least two of our point guards and then we should talk about bringing someone new at that position....

it just doesn't make much sense now since we have 4 of them, while 3 of them could be shipped easily anyday

I hope this is resolved as soon as posible, it's just mind-boggling and keeps my dreams about Bibby too far away

    No

He had $3MM due and opted out, so he will want more than that.

We are set at PG with James/Maybe Rafer or VSpan.

Use the MLE on a PF.

Although I love Lil' Earl and his toughness, he is way undersized and we saw what an undersized PG can do in the playoffs

Not to offend anyone specifically but...if Steve Novak and Justin Reed are the only contracted PF's on your roster and Chuck Hayes is a RFA...And the higher rated non-Lottery PF's in the draft (S. Williams, McRoberts, Dudley, etc.) may ALL be gone by #26, and moving up is difficult, and Shane Battier is not the optimum move at PF...Wouldn't it just kinda make more sense to focus on PF? Just a little....well, maybe ALOT. Please?

we have one slightly trigger happy point gaurd (rafer), just traded for another decidedly shoot first point gaurd (mike james), have the diet version of boykins on the bench (JLIII--note his summer leauge numbers), plus greek t-mac at the same position. I'm a boykins fan, he's fun as hell to watch, but the last thing this team needs is another shoot first point gaurd popping ill advised step-back jumpers (which is basically boykins' game). Note that the nuggets immeadiately improved upon shipping him for a PG (steve blake) who was more willing to distribute to the stars. He's the last thing we need right now--spend the money on a power forward.

Ordinarily, yes I would. But we just got James, and the consensus around here is that we need a PF. Personally, I think that we are fine with Chuck Hayes, Steve Novak and Battier splitting PF duties. We have a coach that is GOING to infuse octane into our offense, and versatility at the 3-4 spots was a hallmark of the Kings' offense under Adelman. With Hayes, Novak and Battier, we have that now. However, if we are going to get a PF, a Franciso Elson type player is what we should shoot for.

Well, if Earl the Pearl actually had an assist maybe he could be prioritized over a glaring (w)hole (lotta mediocrity) at the 4.

Supposedly Cleveland, desperate for a 1, and with Boynkins being a Clevelander, plans to pass (which is not something Earl does).

Excellent idea. We could design a set of offsense for Yao and Earl. Basically, Earl will push the ball and Yao will position himself well. Then Earl calls the offsense. He would stop the dribbling, hold the ball tight, and jump onto Yao's shoulder, then shoot the ball from there. Now this is a killer move since nobody can really jump high enough to affect the releasing.

The only thing we need to do is to make Earl practice shooting while sitting on a tall chair.
