This guy I thought was just gonna be an afterthought for this team. But stats or no stats-wise, he's brought it when we needed it the most. For a team that actually expected meaningful contribution from the megastar that is known as courtney fortson, boykins has exceeded all expectations, and more. he is a big part of our fine victories as of late.

credit goes to morey too, but I wanna focus on the player. GO EARL!!!

This seems to be a "required" thread for any Rockets player that's doing well, but Boykins deserves it. I've gotta say he's surprised me. Like Camby (although clearly not at his level as a player, and I'm not talking about his height!), Boykins is a veteran who simply knows what he is doing on the court. That he's done this well after joining the team cold, out of the league for months, is remarkable. I think McHale left him in too long at one point last night, with Earl running out of gas and making a couple of mistakes, but the little cat has been outstanding. Yes, I appreciate him. I'll appreciate him even more if we manage to get Kyle back for the playoffs. ;-)-

Not surprised at all, he aged very well and put up great numbers in the last years. Always a true baller with great scoring and playmaking, hustle, veteran leadership.

Question is, will the Rockets keep him, chances are he will be cut within the next 2 days. To me he should be signed for the rest of the season, especially with Fortson beign signed and with a chance of losing Lowry / Dragic. We need a veteran back-up next year too.

We cannot afford to make the playoffs with a combo of Dragic / Lowry at 50-75% and Fortson. What if Lowry doesn't come back or some1 gets injured. You need leaders and that's what Earl provided last night. He was very calm and did all the little things in the 4th, never hesitated with his shots even though his last 3 didn't fall, they were good.

I can't believe they'd sign Fortson for the rest of the season and not sign Boykins for the rest.

Id rather take my chances 4 vs 5 than have Fortson out there.

Would be a shock if they don't keep Boykins the rest of the year. It is going to take awhile for Lowry to get back into game shape. Don't believe the Rockets plan on rolling over and playing dead. If they were going to do that they would not have brought Boykins in to start with.

Well, he's not allowed to play in the playoffs I think. He's been solid. Over dribbles but gets to his spots and makes plays

Wasn't he signed 2 or 3 days after the deadline for playoff rosters?

I think he's not with any other NBA team this season so he's always eligible.

Boykins is one of my fav players because he's only 5'4/5'5 but he's playing in the NBA.
