Picked up the game yesterday. After having a test run to work out the controller and relevent buttons, I then started a Dynasty Mode season with the Rockets. Did some major trading to add some young up and coming players. My roster is now Yao, Steve, Cat, Meech, Wilks, Darko, Murphy, Dunleavy, Pietrius, Planicic and Randolph. How do i get the young players to improve, is there a potential rating. How do i get more of those dynasty mode bonus point things, i was playing 5 minute quarters and the task lists seem to be set for 12 min quarters. Any suggestions for players to add. Is there a section in team management for setting plays, traps, zones, etc???
lol...I bought Live about 3 weeks ago. I've only played it for a total of 1 hour. I'm not that used to it because I've been playing 2k2 and 2k3 the last 2 years. The graphics are quite different but I like the music. The rosters..I need to update it. lol..you have quite a good team. I tried Dynasty Mode..wasn't very successful. There is no potential rating. I don't even know how to call plays..how do you call plays?!?
I have yet to play in dynasty mode. But I have been scoring lots of points to buy shoes throwbacks etc. One way to get a lot of points is to play in rookie mode create a player and play the charlotte bobcats. Use a full court press and double team as much as possible. So that you can set up a lot of fast breaks. Go the entire game without missing minimum 20 shots and you will recieve like 1,000 points... I'm playing a season right now in the expert mode with the Rockets and have been getting my a** kicked. My starting five is me (i created myself as a point guard) steve at the 2, ming at center cat at small forward and griffin and or cato at the 4. Later.
You call plays with the D-Pad, The updates come when u sign onto the online play, it will ask if you wanna d-load them, not sure if it will overwrite your trades or not.

I know live does, not sure on the other. Seems like a maximum of 2 retro jerseys though, and I don't think the home retro houston jerseys were in.
Well..I don't have online play. I was thinking..manually edit the rosters in roster management. That will take some time...

Live series 2004 has 3 retro houston shirts. both the 94/95 away and home and a blue-yellow kind of shirt from the early 70's. In the shop I think you can also buy the pinstripes (not 100% sure). And I think it is more difficult to play then the 2002 and 2003 editions.
I played franchise mode on Live 2003 for about a month. I missed the playoffs for like 5 straight years. (counting 1999, I guess it would be 9 years) But then my 5 No. 1 draft picks came up gold.. Houston Rockets: NBA world champions 2008-2016
iv been playin nba live for the past 4 years and this year i rented ESPN bball and it is a **** load better than live, it really does kick ass! i suggiest you try it out.
i just played it last night. i was wondering why olajuwon was not on the 90s all stars team. he is on the 80s team, but on the bench. its worse on nba2k4 -- hes not even in the game. talk about someones star fading -- 5 years from now, no one outside of houston will even remember who he was.
