The NFL is really screwing itself with this deal and the exclusive NFL Direct TV ticket. They are narrowing their audience for a quick buck. DD
Great! Can't wait to buy their annual roster update, whoops, I mean - video game! Looking forward to the same bugs that I know and love from the last two years' roster updates - I mean, video games!
This sucks. Competition brings out the best in everyone. EA must be scared because they know 2K can make a game and cater to the real football fans. Hell, even the other football game, "Backbreaker" looks promising and with an NFL license, could really do some damage. Man I hope the NBA never goes exclusive to EA Sports.
bad news for anyone expecting a great football video game. no competition means more careless production. NFL 2K11 bubble just bursted
It isn't so much that EA is scared of 2K (though they may have been), but that the NFL wants to give out exclusive deals everywhere AFAIK. If EA didn't get it, 2K (or someone else) probably would have gotten the exclusive license. I don't think the NFL understands that this is a bad move for gamers...that, or they don't care.
NFL seems to like screwing up a good thing. Couldn't they make more money by having as many brands as possible, most not being from the same companies? Imagine how it was 10 - 15 years ago....in one year you could have five or six NFL related games; Tecmo Super Bowl EA's Madden NFL Quarterback Club Joe Montana's Sports Talk NFL Primetime (ESPN series), later became the 2K series NFL Monday Night Football NFL Gameday & Xtreme Bill Walsh College Football
This is the NFL we're talking about. Players get fined if they wear a brand not endorsed by the NFL. You have official credit cards, official phone companies, official HDTVs etc. Madden is just another of the NFL's oficial products.
thats what im saying man, baseball games are not the same anymore. The Show and MLB2k7 are wack compared to MVP 2005
Ok, so now I dream about NFL 2K13... boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Hey hey now I love The Show. Its fun level doesn't compare to MVP 2005 though. That was the first baseball game where I actually played an entire 162 game season. The offseason mode was disappointing.
I will always be a Madden guy but they desperately need 2k to continue to push them. This is bad news. Especially for PS3 owners who IMO get shafted (and will continue to get shafted) by EA's football titles. They refuse to develop 1st on the PS3 and their creators complain (still) about the programming difficulties. YET, their Soccer title plays fine on PS3. Clearly Microsoft and EA Football have some kind of under the table deal going. And we have no sim alternative.
