Since there isn't S..t going on , I checked out some of my other favorite web sites and found EG on NBA.com getting some good reviews from the RMR along with another player I like in Tony Parker.

One thing I am worried about is the fact that so many teams (Kings, Suns, Spurs, Blazers, Jazz, Mavs, Clipps, Timberwolves) are revamping their roster, while we sit idle and are simply content on signing the usual suspects and putting our much inflated hopes on a rookie thats only 19. I read alot of posts on when we make the playoffs, but thats only gonna come back to bite us on the ass. We need to evaluate the season we had last year and concentrate on improving our weaknesses as well as our strengths. If you look at our roster , we only have 4 good players in Mo, Francis, Cat, Moochie. Dream is good sometimes , but inconsistant and injury prone, SA and Walt are inconsistant and one dimensional, KT is a decent back-up, Langhi needs to develop still, Collier is fragile, Carlos is gone, and Cato is well.....Cato. It leaves us with something else to be desired.

    Wow dp, I really agree.

I don't think we should expect EG to make a big immediate impact, and this whole thing with Dream is confusing and annoying. It would be very bad if we don't re-sign him, unless Rudy and CD somehow pick up a starting-caliber center.

We essentially have the same amount of talent from last year, while adding some raw talent to the mix. Hopefully their chemistry will be better and they will learn how to play together effectively.

It would be a dream come true if we played every quarter with the heart and intensity of the third quarter in that last game against the Spurs. As suggested in that game, defense helps the offense.

Those teams are revamping their rosters, while we sit idle? Let's take a look:

Kings-- Resigned their own free agents Webber and Christie and made a no brainer trade of Bibby for Williams. I'm sure if Rudy received an offer that lopsided, he would take it too. Luck plays a part.

Suns-- Traded Kidd for Marbury and Cliff Robinson for peanuts. Oh how I wish we could be them! Not all revamping is for the better...

Spurs-- Traded Derek Anderson for Steve Smith, a move that most of you seem to think will hurt the Spurs tremendously.

    Blazers-- Agreed.

Jazz-- Oh boy! They're replacing Danny Manning and Olden Polynice with John Amaechi! Start the parade! [IMG]

Mavs-- They added a CBA type player in Adrian Griffin. Wow!

Clips-- What reason did the Clips have not to trade for Elton Brand? And do you really want to be like the Clips?

Timberwolves-- Changed backup PF's from Laphonso Ellis to Joe Smith. Impressive!

You seem to imply we should be following the suit of these teams, but the majority have resigned their own players, made very small free agent acquisitions, or have regressed from the end of last year. I'd bet almost all of those teams would rather add Griffin and Morris to the team they had instead of revamping and acquiring all those great players like Adrian Griffin and John Amaechi.

I think the Kings will be much improved w/ Bibby at the point. The Suns will also be a formidable team if as has been reported, Penny comes back in decent form.

Actually, if they ship Penny off for Dickerson and Big Country - they should make a good run this year. Penny has had such a history of injuries, that no team will know what they are getting. But then again, if we resign Hakeem, who knows if he will last half the season.

    IMO

Kings-Bibby for Jason W. is a Major upgrade. Not as many turnovers and wild flashy plays will be replaced with solid heads-up finishes. Not to mention the hustling Wallace brings, who will attack the rim like a mad man with the spacing their shooters give. You think coach is worried if he can't shoot? [IMG]

Spurs- Turned an ugly situation into a great one with the addition of playoff veteran Steve Smith which will only make them even more savvy. D-rob, Duncan, Smith, Daniels, and Parker is scary. Parker can flat out ball.

Suns-A trio of Marbury, Marion, and Hardaway is alot more dangerous than Kidd, Marion, and Hardaway.

Jazz- They added a good shooting big man in Amaechi as well as some impressive talent in Kirilenko and Harold Jamison. Thats 3 good players.

Mavs- I agree not much there, but I promise Cuban isn't finished yet.

Clipps- Added a pretty good post player in an already impressive backcourt. Olowakandi, Brand, Miles/Maggette, Odom/Richardson, and Dooling will be a tough, deep team to beat for years.

Timberwolves- They'll have a formidable frontcourt in Garnett, Smith, and Woods now since he was assured starting at C.

We added one good player in Griffin who is still a teenager. I don't think the Morris experiment is gonna work out. This ain't gonna get us in the playoffs. Damn, the truth hurts. [IMG]

Drpepper I'll take Jason Kidd over Marbury any day of the week. Kidd makes everyone around him better. Also I consider Terrence Morris a steal for the rockets, it would not surprise me at all if he started at the 3 spot this upcoming season.

Marbury has the rare ability to make his teammates worse- not better.

Phoenix has really screwed up their team for year, in my opinion.

Utah, Dallas, San Antonio, and Minnesota did not help or hurt themselves.

I think Portland and Sacramento will be better.

In any case, I think Houston will make the playoffs, and be a better team this year. I see 52 wins.

I think the reason everyone feels so confident about the playoffs is because we should have made the playoffs last year in one of the toughest years ever. With this same team that plays all year like they did the second half with or without Griff we make the playoffs. My points.

    1. Dream's contribution to this team will be clear from the get-go (if he stays.)

    2. Mo will be used to the system and should get more touches and productivity.

    3. Steve will start coming into his own as an elite player.

    4. The CATOMIC BOMB WILL BE DROPPED!!!!! [IMG] Well not likely, but who knows?

There's a reason the front office is so confident about last year's line-up. The rookies don't hurt either.

I think s.a stayed the same and portland and phoenix went backwards.Steve Smith for Derek Anderson is a wash.Although Anderson is more atheletic, why did he pick a contract year to play all the regular season games?Derek sucked in the playoffs before he got hurt.Smith will help that team with his consistentcy.Given the shots,he'll get you 17-19 pts.Les we forget,he had to share time in that stupid platoon system mike dunleavy had.Smith is a player that if they play la,if you run him to the blocks,he'll kill anyone they have, even kobe.i know it doesn't make sense, but Rider would really help the spurs starting lineup.

Pepper, we did just as much as most of those teams.

Do you have any reasoning behind the "Morris experament wont work" or you just think it won't work?

Obviously we have a large difference of opinions about what revamping means.

We added a guy who could easily become an all-star in seasons to come, and a guy that, if he works out, can be a starter at SF for many years.

    Kings-Resigned players made the Bibby deal(Who wouldn't)

Suns-Made a bad trade in Marbury for Kidd, and then traded A good scorer for spare change.

Spurs-Smith is in no way a plus over Anderson. In a couple of seasons he could just be a shooter. Parker could have been a good pickup, but you're telling me he is going to have a larger impact than Griffin and Morris combined?

Blazers-Made a good trade and signed Patterson. That's all. Unless the team shows some chemistry they are going nowhere, no matter how many more future all-stars, all-stars, and former all-stars they add.

Jazz-Meech did nothing last season. Nothing. And they traded two quality guys to get him. Again, you think Kirile... and Jamison are going to make a bigger impact than Griffin and Morris combined?

Clips-Brand trade was great. But I don't think they are a very serious threat for next season. At this point Odom and Brand are their only two players who have really shown much.

Wolves-Adding Smith was good. Better than nothing. But the addition of a 10 ppg, 7 rpg player in Smith and Loren Woods(Injured) is not bigger than Griffin+Morris

What is your reasoning behind us not making the playoffs?

We were the 9th seed last season.

The 8 teams in front of us were the Lakers, Spurs, Wolves, Blazers, Suns, Kings,
    Mavs, and Jazz.

The suns are nowhere near the team they were last season. Kidd is better than Stephon, and Cliff was one of their best scorers.

The Wolves are a threat, but with a little maturing from Franchise, Mobley, and Taylor, resigning of Mooch, Dream, and addition of draft picks we are a tough team to beat.

The Jazz will be alot better this year with the new talent. The Timberwolves will have an even better front line with 3 7 Footers. And the Spurs have more Championship Experience. If I'm not mistaken, the Clipps took 3 out of 4 last year, and they got better. And Marbury will give Steve more fits than the slower Kidd did.

I think Sac, Jazz, Spurs, Clipps, and Timberwolves will show improvement this year.

And VJ, why are you so big on Morris? He was a non-factor the ENTIRE season last year. The dude was throwing bricks the whole summer and you think he'll start?

The Jazz will be alot better this year with the new talent.

Why even try to argue with someone who says things like that?

Gee, adding centers that would be back-up on most teams really results in an improved team.

Wow! That rookie looks pretty good! Too bad he can't shoot from 10 feet on out.

The Jazz aged a year and lost an excellent back-up PG. Expect more gradual decline.
