When: Saturday, April 11, 7:30 PM Where: Robertson Stadium, Houston, TX Television: Fox Soccer Channel Radio: 790 AM (English), 850 AM (Spanish) The Dynamo come back to Houston this week after disappointing losses at San Jose (3-2) and DC (1-0). They really need a win against the team that embarrassed them so badly in last year's Western Conference playoffs. I would like to get a look at Ade Akinbiyi this week. I also hope to attend my first game of the year if my schedule permits. Dr. Ludicrous: do you know who will be in and out this week?
Akinbiyi will be here but won't be able to play, his visa has been approved but not issued yet. I believe Robinson is the only other player that isn't available. I think Dom will probably go with the same lineup as last game but have Barrett back in defense instead of the midfield.
I would recommend it! The weather is cool outside, much better than in the middle of the summer. Plus, the revenge factor will be there tonight. If you've never been, sit near the Texian Army or El Batallon during the game. Their energy is palpable and really heightens the experience for first-time attendee.
Really disappointing result. The Dynamo could not net a goal after Danny Cepero was lost in the first half and with New York playing with 10 men for the final 16 minutes. The Red Bulls came into town again and played spoiler. I know we've been privy to slow starts every year thus far, but the Dynamo have looked really bad so far this year. Corey Ashe brought good energy when he was substituted in during the second half, but I wish that would have happened earlier. The field also looked to be in terrible condition again. It's pretty appalling that we're only a year removed from winning two championships and the UH conditions are still this bad. The new stadium can't get here soon enough.
I went. I sat near something, I guess it was El Batallon because I saw Texian Army on the opposite side. It was pretty cool, enjoyed it.
All the Dynamo games, I have seen this season, show our team lacking not only offensive firepower but making critical defensive mistakes as well. I just can't actually think about what we can possibly do to improve it.
The Dynamo, as all MLS teams should get more players from outside the US. Here is Europe there are great young 18 year-olds who would love to play for professional clubs but don't have the talent to do so in Europe. However, they would fit perfectly in the MLS.
I can't disagree with this. Holden has not taken over the midfield like I hoped he would. It's still very early in the season, but I don't see it happening. He is still way too passive. They have got to find some creativity. Ching is a good goal scorer, but he cannot create shots on his own.
We definitely miss DeRo. It's been a rough start. I heard we signed some canadian defender who plays in czech republic. Hopefully that might help. But right now, much like the 'stros the Dynamo are hard to watch.
