When: Thursday June 26, 2008, 8:00 PM Where: Robertson Stadium, Houston, TX Television: ESPN2 Radio 790 AM (English), 850 AM (Spanish) Here we go again with our second prime time, national television game of the season. We can only hope it goes better for the Orange than it did in the New England debacle. After last week's 0-0 tie to Colorado, the Dynamo (4-4-6, 18 points) look to rebound with a win against FC Dallas (4-6-4, 16 points) in the ongoing battle for El Capitan. Correct me if I'm wrong Dr. Ludicrous, but I believe that FC Dallas have never won a game in Houston? If memory serves, we've always gotten either a win or draw. Anyway, the Dynamo will be without the services of Eddie Robinson (again, but now with a sprained ankle) and Richard Mulrooney (swollen knee) this week, so we'll see how the reserves fill in. In other Dynamo news, the team reached an agreement with UH to extend their lease at Robertson into 2009 and, if needed, 2010. Good news, because by this team in 2010, we'll be just "four to six" weeks away from sealing our stadium deal!
You're right, they've never won here. And they aren't going to start today. I hope DeRo plays up top again, he's by far our best option at forward at this point. Dallas isn't doing well right now and they just changed coaches, if we play well it should be an easy win.
Dallas might have some of the worst uniforms in the history of the game. Those are almost 1994 USA bad.
I see the stench of Carlos Ruiz is still hovering over FCrap Dallas. Cheap s*** fouls and diving like little girls.
Shame that the game had to end 1-1. Not that I would know, since the WNBA game preempted the entire first half by going into freaking triple overtime, but the announcers said that the Dynamo totally dominated the first half. Infuriating call that the Dallas player did not get a red card for that tackle on Stuart Holden. However, as leroy noted, Dallas has never been above cheap fouls and flops. So that makes it 3 ties against FC Dallas this season. I hope the battle for El Capitan does not have to be decided on goal differential!
It was decided on away goals and we lost. We may have to go chain it up in the stadium so they can't take it. Or just steal it and hide it somewhere.
Saw the last 20 minutes of this game...Sloppy...I know I shouldn't compare, but after the Dynamo tie, I flipped on the Russia/Spain match and man, I wish MLS was as competitive or as non-stop as Euro matches...I know, but I can dream can't I...
But thats an International match not even a European league match!!! I actually thought it was a good match in the 45 minutes that the great ESPN decided to show us due to their decision not to move the 10 OT WNBA game to ESPN the ocho.
