When: Tuesday, July 15, 9:00 PM Where: Robertson Stadium, Houston, TX Television: TeleFutura Radio: 790 AM (English), 850 AM (Spanish) Big SuperLiga game this week against one of the most storied Mexican clubs, Chivas. Chivas comes in after a 2-1 win against DC United, but the Dynamo are relishing in their 4-0 win against Atlante this past weekend. This should be a good one, even though the start time is not until 9:00. Dwayne De Rosario will sit this one out due to his straight red card against Atlante.
This'll be an interesting game. It's very likely it will be the game with the largest number of opposing fans that we've seen. We'll be without Robinson, Mulrooney, Ching, and DeRo. Not exactly the greatest situation but we've managed wins while missing our top guys before. And I bet Swoly-D is happy since he'll have a chance to see his favorite team.
What an energetic game so far! I'm hoping Caraccio can play well tonight as the only significant action he's had in months was in the US Open Cup. We're hanging in there alright for the time being, but we need to stay aggressive. The crowd is awesome.
LMAO!!!! I like that phrase especially versus the US national team, But now Im rooting for the Houston Dynamo.
Dynamo's number 17 made a great assist for Chivas only goal. It seems that majority of the fans were cheering for the visiting team instead of the host. Shame on all the Dynamo fans. Although Dynamo lost, I like their little fighting near the end of the game which created two good scoring opportunities. I despise that those Chivas players, once after their team got the lead, acted like they were made of pieces of paper; fell down upon those slight physical contacts and behaved like their legs were broken or something ...
We were without DRo, it woulda been nice to see him out there, i think the red card against Atlante was unwarranted. Mexican league teams have done dirtier things and gotten far less.
Final Score Chivas 1 Dynamo 0 I thought this was a very exciting game and it leaves me as a Dynamo supporter wondering, "what if we had been at full strength?" We had so many scoring opportunities and I give full credit to the Chivas keeper for making a number of incredible saves. If we were able to give Chivas a game like that when we were missing De Rosario, Ching, Robinson, and Holden, I think we could have won it. Heck, we could have won tonight. I believe that we play DC United next in SuperLiga play, which will be a must-win for us to advance past the group stage. There's nothing I would love more than to somehow meet up with Pachuca again.
Unwarranted or not DeRo should know better. He's got a history of losing his temper and ending up with a red card for it. I wouldn't be surprised if it's in the scouting report that getting physical with him will take him off his game and possibly get him carded. The first half was pretty even with both teams getting chances. The second half we dominated but couldn't find the back of the net, Chivas took advantage of their chance and got the win because of it. We play DC in SuperLiga on Saturday, and then have a league game against them on Tuesday, it will be interesting to see how seriously Dom takes the SuperLiga game.
eh, true, but at the same token ref's should take into account he's a big name player and lower card players are out to cause fights. I mean look at how the refs treat KB24, DRo should get the same treatment. DRo is the KB24 of MLS, just cleaner.
The football pitch needs to be cleaned up a bit, especially on those dirty faked injuries. The situation now is that whenever a player falls down, regardless what happened, the game has to be stopped until it gets taken care of. It is just not right and seriously damps the continuity and the competitiveness of the game.
agreed, they should do a Stern and penalize floppers, its way more apparent in soccer than basketball.
I would love it if players had to stay off the field for a while, maybe 5 minutes, when the trainer has to come out. If they get stretchered off make it longer, like 10 minutes. If wasting time is worth playing a man down for 5-10 minutes then let them keep doing it.
