How is the guy? He's young and has been playing top flight soccer in Mexico... Maybe he can replace Oduro. Hes awfully fast, and thats about it.

A friend was telling me that we might get G. Franco, also from Mexico, but much older.

No, leroy, you have to root for a team.

Now, that you bring up Franco, pg, I head something like that as well, but dismissed it when I heard a Fernando Schwartz talk about him. As reported by Schwartz, who covers soccer for Univision, Franco wants to stay in Europe and is trying to work out a deal with a Liga team, whether Villarreal again or someone else, but wants to finish his career there. I don't believe Franco will have as much potential as Landín, though, in my opinion.

I don't recall seeing Landín do better than average during his games with the Mexican Olympic team, but I also believe that the Dynamo is trying to get someone to play when Ching is gone with the national team.

EDIT: From El Esto, top-rated MEXICAN sports paper:

I'm personally hoping he'll replace Kamara and will be our starter along side Ching.

Yeah, we've wanted him for a while. When he left Pachuca he was offered more money at Morelia, he didn't do well there and was loaned to Cruz Azul where he did pretty well in the last tournament. Now Cruz Azul has his old coach from Pachuca and they apparently don't get along.

Here's the Chronical article about it

EDIT: Just after I posted this from a friend, it came into my mailbox. :D
Somebody had to go and Ade Akinbiyi was the lone wolf.

What a shock, the team released Akinbiyi. Kinner and Cannetti are two of the best in MLS but when it comes to Euro signings....
Akinbiyi was a waste of space and money and I still can't believe they even signed him for what, 3 or 4 mths.

Now the Landin signing looks good. Sucks it had to take so long but good to see the guy will finally be donning the orange.

Very excited by this move. The Dynamo didn't want to be the typical MLS team using the DP rule to sign an older, European or Mexican player like Blanco. I'm glad they used it on an up-and-coming player from a serious league. We're lucky to have such a tactical front office.

I also hope that Landin is able to help us land the MLS Cup and Supporters' Shield this season, in addition to getting a stadium. Lord, don't let this go on any longer.

I was hoping for some nice things from Akinbiyi but yeah, if you had to release a forward he should be the one. Although I feel bad for the back ups like Oduro and Weaver, this just throws them further down the depth chart, aside from non-MLS games.

I think Weaver would have been starting with Ching since joining but he got injured after a couple of games and had to have hernia surgery. When he comes back he'll be fighting Kamara for the third spot. His production in his first couple of games was pretty good (1 goal, 2 assists, and a goal that was wrongfully called offside).

This move really helps our depth for our playoff run and CCL games.
