The game is at 10:00 p.m on Friday, ESPN2 will be showing it. Mike Chabala is out due to yellow card accumulation, everybody else should be available.
Dynamo win with a header from CHING-ón. ¡¡VAMOS, DYNAMO!! LOL@ www.mlsnet.com Fail. Spoiler EDIT: on CHROME Spoiler
If you want tickets let me know, there's a group of us from Houston going and there should be extra tickets available.
I would have to check to see, we bought a block of 20 and then the Dynamo made an offer to give tickets to season ticket holders that are going so we're trying to get as many extra as we can. If we get enough free ones they may be free, otherwise they would be $20. How many would you need?
I have to look at what time I get off Friday, but it would be like two or three. I guess let me know. You can shoot an e-mail to me when you find out. Thanks.
have fun to the road-trippers coming out to Home Depot Center for the Conference Finals. I was able to see the final game of the regular season with a group of students courtesy of the Galaxy Foundation Kicks For Kids. they are giving away tickets for tonight's game so I would imagine there are still plenty of tickets together... no offense, but I am hoping the Galaxy win so we get invited to the Finals... (sorry Dynamo fans, I never got a chance to connect with your Champion MLS team)
GO DYNAMO! BEAT LA! Our boys have to play a smart game tonight. There's no doubt that the league and network want LA in the Cup. I'm not one to espouse conspiracy theories, but this game seems ripe for one, especially when you look back at the strange season the Dynamo had. Play smart and finish. I also need the Dynamo to win so that I'm even with a friend of mine in LA. I already owe him a 6-pack of beer for the Lakers taking out the Rockets.
I think once the Conference Finals are set, yeah, it's a one game series as well as for the MLS Cup. the playoffs started with a 2 game home and home format.
Article in the Comical today had Alexi Lalas saying "I don't think there's anybody from a league or big picture perspective that's rooting for Houston." Forgive me, cause I have only been following the MLS since the Dynamo came to town and Soccer in general only since the 2002 World Cup. But why exactly is it good for the MLS to have a pretty boy, who its my understanding is no longer starter material on the best clubs in Europe and the US national team star who is apparently allergic to Europe and whatever scrubs they can scrap together to fill the remaining roster slots to beat MLS's best and best coached team. I guess the Dynamo should expect to have to overcome some real officiating atrocities to have a chance tonight.
To be fair, Beckham did start with AC Milan during his loan and probably will again when he goes back. Like it or not, David Beckham is a huge celebrity. If I wasn't a fan of the Dynamo or knowledgeable about the game, I'd probably be more likely to watch the MLS Cup (or any MLS game in general) if he were involved.
Of course they want Beckham in the Final. They hyped him up soooo much, and the whole experiment has pretty much been a failure. This is most likely their last chance, and they want so badly to say..."I told you so! Beckham was worth it!"
Highly disagree on everything you've said. How is the experiment a failure? He's helped his team to the WCF, his arrival has opened the door for the possibility of a 2nd designated player spot when the league and MLSPA go to the bargaining table in the offseason and say what you want about him, he's given attention to the league-good and bad, and I don't think Commisioner Don Garber has a problem with either. Plus, how is it their last chance seeing as Beckham will be back next season and is on the verge of signing an extension. Not too mention this is only Coach and GM Bruce Arena's first season in charge and yet look what he's done with a roster that was atrocious while Alexi Lalas was at the helm. Nonetheless, DALE DYNAMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It has failed in the sense that he wasn't able to make the MLS matter in this country. Sure he did help the league and his team for the reason's you mentioned...but I don't believe he made the league more popular like his hype had promised 2 years ago. He was getting Pele style hype...the league has grown in popularity, but his impact hasn't been nearly as good as it could have been. The league needs him to win...because people will begin to care less about him if he loses tonight. Which I hope he will.
