Dwight Howard has a long ways to go to prove he is the best center in the game now that Yao is not playing. The talent in the NBA is really simmering right now. I think you honestly could say that other centers in the NBA are the best including Kevin Love. Who do you guys think is the best center?
OP, are you just thinking of offense? Either way, please list all the Cs you think are better than Dwight Howard. Kevin Love is incredibly overrated by some here. You can't seriously think he's a better NBA player than Howard. If so, I don't know what to say. SMH.
Kev Love isn't a C he is a PF.. D Howard is the best centre in the league ATM. He is certainly not the all round player some centers of the past have been but he still a damn good defender and rebounder. With the modern NBA rules we wont see centers of past eras simply because it is a guards game nowadays.. Hands down Howard would be the first centre picked and if I was a GM id also seriously consider Noah. That guy does EXACTLY what the modern C needs to do (be active, get rebounds, block shots, protect the ring an hustle hard). Let the modern day guards and SF's do the rest..
Al Horford's having a nice season, it seems. I haven't watched Atlanta play much, but his PER is sure looking pretty good.
defense alone right now puts howard above everyone else. the magic are the best defensive team simply b/c of him offensively, he has regressed a little after a great start
Seems like nearly every season Howard explodes from the gate and then cools off after 20-30 games. It's like a broken record.
the thing is: he showed some new moves at the beginning of this year so i was optimistic. hopefully he can regain it.
The Magic would not win anywhere near 59 games if they didn't have D Howard. Take him off that team and they would almost be as bad as a lebronless cavs
So Yao is not playing...but DH still has to prove he's the best center in the league? DH is the best center in the league, and I'd argue one of the top 3 players in the league. Plus, he hasn't missed a playoff series yet.
they won a playoff game without dwight 2 years ago. the magic would still be a playoff team without dwight in the east or close to it. they have some good offensive players and gortat would be a great guy to replace him. but they would not challenge for a top 4 seed.
